2 Canadian HR Reporter, a Thomson Reuters business 2019 New labour board vice- chairperson appointed REGINA — Barbara Mysko was appointed as the vice-chairper- son of the Saskatchewan Labour Relations Board on Feb. 21. Mysko replaced Justice Graeme Mitchell, who was ap- pointed to the Court of Queen's Bench in September 2018, said the board. "Mysko is a welcome addition to the board, bringing significant labour and employment law ex- perience to the role," said Don Morgan, Labour Relations and Workplace Safety minister. "Her extensive knowledge of consti- tutional law, human rights law and government processes and her active involvement with the Law Society of Saskatchewan enable her to consider issues brought to the board with fair- ness and neutrality." After earning a bachelor of arts in international studies at the University of Saskatchewan and a master of arts in interna- tional development at Dalhousie University, Mysko received her bachelor of civil law and bach- elor of common law from Mc- Gill University in 2005. She was called to the bar in 2007. Since 2009, she worked as crown coun- sel at the Ministry of Justice, first in the Civil Law Division before moving to the Constitutional Law Branch in 2011. Mysko was Saskatchewan's representative for the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indig- enous Women and Girls, said the board. Similar to past negotiations, the parties relied on an interest- based approach throughout the bargaining process, said CMG.
