Mitchell McDonald was hired in July 2013 as a transit operator but on Oct. 15, 2017, he was driv- ing the Sheppard East bus in east- ern Toronto when he pulled into a station around 5 p.m. Natasha Rankine was the last in line of a number of passengers who waited to board the bus. When Rankine attempted to get onto the bus, the door abruptly Northwest Territories social worker fired for importing alcohol into dry area A PROBATIONARY employee working for the Yellowknife Health and Social Services Authority (YHSSA) was dismissed after it was discovered she had multiple units of beer, wine and liquor shipped into a liquor-prohibited community. Luviminda Richardson was hired for the YHS- SA on Jan. 4, 2016, for a two-year term as super- visor of social programs, based in the 300-person village of Lutsel K'e, N.W.T. Her new position was to provide social assistance to local community members with their addictions. On May 31, Richardson was at the Air Tindi lo- cation in Yellowknife, and she requested a package be sent via air to the Lutsel K'e Health Centre, with the shipping costs charged under the YHSSA ac- count. Under the local Lutsel K'e Liquor Prohibition Regulation, possession of alcohol was illegal. The shipment was initially delayed but on June 2, it was shipped to Lutsel K'e via Air Tindi.
