Vacations with pay: 15 days after 1 year, 20 days after 7 years, 25 days after 11 years, 30 days after 19 years. Maximum 3 extra days will be added to employee's annual vacation, if employee is not absent from duty on account of sickness, disability, nonoccupational accident during preceding year. Vacation carryover of 1 week (5 days) may be carried over for 1 year. Overtime: Time and one- half for all consecutive hours worked which exceed daily full-time equivalent of 1 day (8 hours) or total hours worked which exceed weekly full-time equivalent of 1 week (40 hours). Double time for all work on Sunday. Employees will not be allowed to take time off in lieu of overtime. All overtime will be paid out as overtime is earned in pay period it is worked. Medical benefits: Employer pay 100% of premiums for single or family coverage under Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan. Employer will provide $300 per year of cost of approved employer exercise program. Vision: Employer pay 100% of premiums for coverage of $500 every 2 years for prescription eyeglasses, frames, contact lenses, laser eye surgery for each dependent. 1 eye examination every 24 months. Sick leave: 1.5 workdays per month; may be accumulated, maximum 125 days. When employee is on sick leave exceeding 10 days, employee accrues sick time during first 10 days, but does not accrue sick time while absent on sick leave for portion of sick leave after 10 days off. Maximum 6 days for family illness. AD&D: Employer pay 100% of premiums for coverage of 250% of annual earnings, maximum $250,000. Life insurance: Employer pay 100% of premiums for coverage of 250% of annual earnings, maximum $250,000. Pension: It will be condition of employment for all employees to participate in Local Authorities Pension Plan. Bereavement leave: 4 days for death in immediate family (spouse, partner, children, stepchildren, parents, stepparents, siblings, half-siblings, stepsiblings, grandparents, step- grandparents, mother-in-law, father-in-law, any relative who resides with employee). 2 days travel time if considerable travel is involved. 1 day for death of relative who is not immediate family; attending funeral of person other than relative; attending funeral for reasons of responsibility to club or organization. Seniority – recall rights: 12 months for layoffs; 3 years if employee is absent due to long-term disability or for employees who are receiving compensation from workers' compensation board. Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours of wages, travel allowance at employer's prevailing rate from and to employee's residence or employer's boundary, whichever is shortest distance, for distance traveled in employee's private vehicle. Minimum 2 hours' pay for second or subsequent call-in within same day. Probationary period: 3 months. Discipline: Sunset clause is 1 year for minor disciplinary infraction; 2 years for major disciplinary infraction. Safety shoes: $400 per year (previously $300 per year), including all applicable taxes, for CSA-approved safety apparel (boots, clothing). Uniforms/clothing: All shop employees will be supplied with coveralls. Tool allowance: $50, paid biweekly, for journeyman mechanics, welders required by employer to provide substantial amount of own tools. Mileage: Road-construction employees required to provide own transportation will receive travel allowance per kilometre at employer's prevailing rate for all distance traveled within boundaries of employer to, from and between specific construction projects, or as may be required by employer.
