Employees will be entitled to be reimbursed by employer for loss of cloth- ing, maximum $350, for loss of clothing due to fire in area or areas commonly designated for storage of clothing. Tool allowance: Employees will be entitled to be reimbursed by employer for loss of tools, maximum $350, for loss related to job due to fire in area or areas commonly designated for stor- age of tools. Forklift: Forklift (with competent driver) will be made available to pieceworkers at all relevant times. Student hires: Employer may engage students during school-vacation pe- riod between May 1 and Sept. 30 of each year at ratio of 1 student for every 5 full-time employees, provided that regular hourly employees are not on layoff or working short-time. Travel zones: Whenever employees are required to be away from normal place of residence overnight, employer will pay $80 per day, maximum $400 per week; $480 for 6-day week, to cover room and board, or employer will pro- vide, at own expense, suitable room and board accommodations for employees. Organizing fund: Employer will contribute $0.25 per hour to Central and Eastern Canada Organizing Fund (CECOF) for each hour worked by member of Local 183. POLYETHYLENE FILM MANUFACTURING AT Films (Westlock) Westlock, Alta. (23 welders, coordinators, operators, packagers) and Unifor, Local 21-A Renewal agreement: Effective Sept. 1, 2018 to Aug. 31, 2021. Ratified on June 11, 2019. Signed on Sept. 1, 2018. Shift premium: $0.82 per hour for supervisory relief. $1.17 per hour for day, night shift premium. $1.05 per hour for 300 lines; $2.16 per hour for 400 lines. Paid holidays: 12 days. Vacations with pay: 1/12 of 3 weeks for each month of service to start, 3 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 3 years, 4 weeks after 10 years, 5 weeks after 15 years, 6 weeks after 20 years. Once every 2 vacation years, employee eligible for 3 or more weeks of vacation may postpone 1 week of vacation in order to take that week in fol- lowing vacation year. Overtime: Double time for work performed in excess of employee's normal number of daily hours of work. Time may be banked, maxi- mum 12 banked days (120 regular hours) per year. No banked time is to be taken between May 1 and Oct. 15 inclusive. Any banked time balances not scheduled to be taken by March 15 of each year will be paid out in last pay period of March. Medical benefits: Employer pays 70% of premiums, employee pays 30% of premiums. Dental: Employer pays 70% of premiums, employee pays 30% of premiums. STD: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums. LTD: Employer pays 50% of pre- miums, employee pays 50% of premiums. AD&D: Employer pays 70% of premiums, employee pays 30% of premiums. Life insurance: Employer pays 70% of premiums, employee pays 30% of premiums. Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse, child (after be- ing employed for 30 consecutive days). 3 days for death of mother, father, sister, brother, mother-in- law, father-in-law, grandchild. 1 day for death of grandmother, grandfather, brother-in-law, sis- ter-in-law, son-in-law, daughter- in-law. Seniority – recall rights: 12 months for layoffs or for transfer to position outside bargaining unit; 90 calendar days for em- ployees who are promoted or transferred to position outside bargaining unit. Employees will not lose seniority during absence due to sickness or injury. Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours of pay, except when unscheduled work forms continuous period with employee's regularly sched- uled working hours; employee will also receive 2 hours' pay, except when unscheduled work forms continuous period with employee's regularly scheduled working hours, in which case em- ployee will receive 1 hour's pay, as travelling allowance. Probationary period: 6 consecu- tive months. Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months for any formal discipline. Severance: 2 weeks' pay plus 2 weeks of pay for each year of service multiplied by employee's regular rate (after 1 year of service with employer) for employees hired before Sept. 1, 2015. 2 weeks' pay plus 1 week of pay for each year of service multiplied by employee's regular rate (after 1 year of service with employer) for employees hired after Sept. 1, 2015. Safety shoes: $235 plus GST, per year for permanent employees; $164 plus GST, for casual, proba- tionary employees. Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide required protective devices, wearing apparel, other equipment that is necessary to protect employee from injury.
