Day shift: $1.21 per hour rising 3 steps to $1.32 per hour. Night shift: $2.75 per hour rising 3 steps to $3.01 per hour. First-class steam: $5.81 per hour ris- ing 3 steps to $6.37 per hour. Second-class steam: $4.56 per hour rising 3 steps to $5 per hour. Third-class steam: $1.50 per hour rising 3 steps to $1.65 per hour. Dual-ticket: $2.10 per hour rising 3 steps to $2.30 per hour. Paid holidays: 11 days, plus 1 additional day to be designated by employer. Vacations with pay: 3 weeks or 6% after 1 year, 4 weeks or 8% after 10 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 19 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 25 years. Overtime: Double time for shift workers for all work after 12 hours per day, on scheduled days of rest. Double time for work in excess of 186.6 hours in current 35-day shift sched- ule excepting hours for which premium pay has been paid. Double time for regular day employees for work in excess of regularly scheduled hours in 1 day and for hours worked on scheduled days of rest. Time may be banked, maximum 48 hours (any hours remaining in bank at yearend will be paid out at straight-time and no time may be carried over to follow- ing year). Meal allowance: After 2 hours of overtime after normal hours (or if employee works on day of rest, minimum 4 hours of work, and with 2 hours of advance notice, employee will receive meal or one-half hour of pay at operator #2 rate and every 4 hours of overtime thereafter. Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (spouse, parents, grandparents, children, grandchildren, broth- ers and sisters, parents-in-law, sisters- and brothers-in law, daughter- and son-in law). Seniority – recall rights: 1 year, with less than 1 year of seniority. 6 months if employee is assigned to job classification not covered by agreement. Probationary period: 3 calen- dar months. Severance: 2 weeks' pay, plus 2 weeks' pay for each year of service, for employees whose jobs are declared redundant due to technological change or automation. Alternate schedules: If shift employee changes from assigned work schedule to alternate schedule, employee will receive 35 days' notice; if employee receives notice, employee will be paid double times for first 12 hours worked under new schedule; if notice is not provided, employee will be paid at double time for first 36 hours worked under new schedule. Standby: 4 hours of straight-time pay per standby day; 1 hour of straight-time pay per partial standby day. If standby is cancelled after 3:30 p.m. prior to day scheduled to be on standby, employee will receive 4 hours of straight-time pay in lieu of notice. EDUCATION EDUCATION University of British Columbia (Okanagan Campus) Kelowna, B.C. (644 educational, research, kitchen, technical employees) and the British Columbia Government and Service Employees' Union (BCGEU) Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2022. Signed on July 1, 2019. Wage adjustments: Effective July 1, 2019: 2% Effective July 1, 2020: 2% Effective July 1, 2021: 2% Shift premium: $1 per hour for working afternoon shift from 4 p.m. to midnight; $1.15 per hour for working grave- yard shift from midnight to 8 a.m. (where majority of em- ployee's regular hours of work fall within either afternoon or graveyard shift, differential will be paid for all hours worked). $48.75 semi-monthly for em- ployees who hold occupational first aid level 2 or 3 certificate. Paid holidays: 12 days. Vacations with pay: 20 days af- ter 1 year, 26 days after 7 years, 28 days after 10 years (previ- ously 28 days after 15 years), 30 days after 15 years, (previously 30 days after 25 years). Employees may carry over maximum 5 days' vacation leave to next year; employees may carry over additional 5 days for maximum 10 days' va- cation leave to next year. Overtime: Time and one-half for first 2 hours worked; double time thereafter. Double-time for all hours worked on sixth, seventh consecutive days of work. May be taken as time off in lieu but time not taken by Dec. 31 will be paid out. Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Em- ployer pays 100% of premiums for extended health. Employer pays 70% of premiums, em- ployee pays 30% of premiums for employee and family assis- tance program. Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Sick leave: 1.25 days for every month of service, maximum accumulation of 152 days. LTD: Employee pays 100% of premiums. Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Pension: University staff pen- sion plan. Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (father, mother, spouse, same- sex partner, brother, sister, son, daughter, common-law child, ward, grandparent, grandchild, father-in-law, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law). 1 day to attend funeral of friend or relation not defined, maxi- mum 2 days per year. Seniority – recall rights: 12 months. Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours at appropriate overtime rates (double time on holidays). If call-in extends into employee's scheduled hours, employee will be paid at appropriate overtime rates for first 4 hours worked, with balance of hours worked paid at employee's regular rate.
