COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide maximum 14 pairs of coveralls, shop-coats, work shirt, pants, at employee's discretion. GOVERNMENT Government of Canada Multiprovince (3,340 architects, engineers, land survey professionals) and the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada (PIPSC) Renewal agreement: Effective Aug. 30, 2019 to Sept. 30, 2022. Signed on Aug. 30, 2019. Shift premium: Time and one- half for work performed on first shift changed if employee is given less than 72 hours' advance notice of change in employee's shift schedule. $2 per hour for each hour worked, including overtime hours, be- tween 4 p.m. and 8 a.m. $2 for all scheduled hours worked at straight-time hourly rates on Saturday, Sunday. $25 per hour for employees whose job duties require them to dive with aid of self-contained air supply (mini- mum allowance will be 2 hours per dive). 25% of employee's ba- sic hourly rate for each one-half (1/2) hour employee is required to be in submarine. Paid holidays: 10 days. Vacations with pay: 9.375 hours per month to start, 12.5 hours per month after 8 years, 13.75 hours per month after 16 years, 14.375 hours per month after 17 years, 15.625 hours per month after 18 years, 16.875 hours per month after 27 years, 18.75 hours per month after 28 years. Employee may carry over maximum 262.5 hours' credit into following vacation. All credits greater than 262.5 hours will be paid out. Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 7.5 hours of overtime; double time for all work thereafter. Double time for all hours worked on em- ployee's second or subsequent day of rest. Time may be taken as compensatory leave. Leave earned in 1 fiscal year and out- standing on Dec. 31 of next fis- cal year will be paid on Dec. 31. Meal allowance: $12 (except where free meals are provided) for employee who works 3 or more hours of overtime imme- diately before or immediately following employee's scheduled hours of work; additional $12 for each subsequent 4 hours of overtime. Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for em- ployee wellness program. Sick leave: 9.375 hours for each month; 1.25 hours for each month for shift workers. Em- ployees may carry over maxi- mum 3 days per year. Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in family (father, mother, stepfather, stepmother, foster parent, brother, sister, stepbrother, stepsister, spouse, common-law partner resident with employee, child, child of common-law partner, stepchild, foster-child, ward of employee, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchild, grandparents of employee, any relative residing in employee's household). Ad- ditional 3 days for travel related to death. 1 day for death of em- ployee's brother-in-law, sister- in-law, grandparent of spouse. Call-in pay: Greater of mini- mum 3 hours' pay at applicable overtime rate for each call-in (maximum 8 hours' pay in 8-hour period) or compensa- tion at applicable overtime rate for each hour worked provided period worked is not contigu- ous to employee's normal hours of work. May be taken as com- pensatory leave. Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years for notice of disciplinary action (period will automatical- ly be extended by length of any single period of leave without pay longer than 6 months). Severance: 2 weeks' pay to start; 3 weeks' pay for employ- ees with 10 years of employ- ment; 4 weeks' pay for em- ployees with 20 or more years of employment, plus 1 week's pay for each additional year of employment on first layoff. 1 week's pay for each year of employment and 1 week's pay multiplied by number of days of employment divided by 365, less any period which employee was given severance pay on sec- ond or subsequent lay-off, for partial year of employment .
