of shift at higher classification, employee will be paid higher rate of pay for each hour worked at higher classification. $3 per hour to certified trainers who provide training courses. 5.1% of operations operator's hourly rate for shift hours worked out- side 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. limit; 8% of operations operator's hourly rate for shift hours worked out- side 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. limit. $0.50 per hour for employees who work emergency utility dig-up in -25 Celsius or lower tempera- tures. $1 per hour for employee meeting dual certification. $0.42 per hour for hours worked by senior transit utility workers when performing supervisory duties. Paid holidays: 12 days. Vacations with pay: 15 days to start, 20 days after 7 years, 25 days after 14 years, 30 days after 21 years. Overtime: Double time for all work after 8 or 10 hours per day or 40 hours per 7-day work period. May be deposited into overtime bank, maximum 80 hours accrual from Jan. 1 to end of 24th pay period. Time will be paid out, if not used, on 25th pay period. Medical benefits: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employ- ee pays 20% of premiums. Dental: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums. Vision: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums. Sick leave: One-half day for each month worked. May be ac- cumulated, maximum 120 days. When employee retires or dies, 50% of value of accumulated sick leave will be paid to em- ployee or estate. LTD: Employer pays 80% of pre- miums, employee pays 20% of premiums. AD&D: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums. Life insurance: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums. Bereavement leave: 4 days for death in immediate family (father, mother, brother, sister, spouse, child of employee, father-in-law, mother-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, son- in-law, daughter-in-law, broth- er-in-law, sister-in-law, spouse's grandparents, steprelative who grew up with employee). Ad- ditional 3 days of special leave for travel if required. 2 days if employee is executor, to satisfy all legal requirements. Seniority – recall rights: 1 year for layoff. Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours of pay at overtime rate. Probationary period: 180 con- secutive calendar days (does not include any leave without pay). Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months for all disciplinary ac- tions, reprimands. Severance: 2 weeks to start; 3 weeks after 5 years or service; 4 weeks after 10 years of service. Safety shoes: Employees will reimbursed $150 of cost of regular safety work boots, after probation. Replacement boots will be reimbursed as required due to wear and tear. Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide protective clothing for employees required to work in wet conditions. Employer will supply summer, winter coveralls or winter jackets as required. Tool allowance: $20 per month to automotive service worker, transit service worker payable bi-weekly. $50 per month to ap- prentice technicians, outdoor power equipment technician, automotive technicians, heavy duty technicians, maintenance planner, lead-hand, team-lead garage shop. Special-leave credits: One-half day for each month of service, maximum 30 days. Marriage: 1 day to employee to be present at wedding if it falls on regular work day. Prescription safety glasses: $250 for 1 full set of prescription safety glasses every 5 years; $160 for replacement prescription lenses every 2 years for technical staff who are required to work in designated eye-protection areas of public works and transit garages. Standby: 2.5 times operations labourer's hourly rate per day for Friday, Saturday, Sunday; 3 times operations labourer's hourly rate for statutory holidays. When statutory holiday falls on Saturday or Sunday, declared day in lieu will be paid at 3 times labourer's rate and actual statutory holiday will be paid at 2.5 times labourer's rate. Minimum 2 hours of pay at double time or emergency work.
