Editor's notes: Standby duty: Double time for each hour employees are on standby duty for water, waste and environment department employees who do standby duty on Sundays and holidays. 10% of salary grade 1B, step 1 per hour for all hours on standby assignment minimum 8 hours. Overtime: Time and one-half for authorized hours in excess of regular daily and weekly hours, but not both. Double time for work on paid holiday in addi- tion to holiday pay. Double time for work on Sunday (outside of normal shift). Employee who accepts overtime shift and who subsequently is absent for shift without valid reason, will be charged twice number of hours missed as refused overtime. Meal allowance: $14 for em- ployees who work 2 hours of unscheduled overtime after his regular work period. Second meal will be provided from same basis upon working 6 con- secutive hours of overtime. Medical benefits: Company pays 80% of premiums, employ- ee pays 20% of premiums. Dental: Company pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums of basic coverage. Coverage of $3,000 maximum per person per calendar year. Vision: Company pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums for coverage of $375 rising 4 steps to $400. Paramedical: $60 per visit, combined maximum of $1,500 per person per year for osteo- path/naturopath/chiropractor/ acupuncturist/massotherapist/ dietician. 1 X-ray per year, maxi- mum $45. Weekly indemnity: Company pays 80% of premiums, employ- ee pays 20% of premiums for 66 2/3% of regular earnings up to 26 weeks. LTD: Company pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums for benefits up to 10 years. Coverage of $1,420 per month rising 4 steps to $1,500 per month. AD&D: Company pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums. Life insurance: Company pays 80% of premiums for employee, spouses, and children, employee pays 20% of premiums for cov- erage of $55,000. Pension: DB plan for employees hired before Jan. 10, 2006. DC plan for subsequently hired employees – company pays 2% of wages and matches employee contribution up to 4%. Bereavement leave: 4 con- secutive paid days for death of parent, sibling, spouse, child, grandparent, grandchild, par- ent-in-law, stepparent, includ- ing day after funeral or memo- rial service. 4 consecutive days, of which 1 will be paid, for death of sibling-in-law, stepchild, child-in-law, parent's spouse who is not stepparent. Leave of absence of 1 day without pay or less may be given with verbal agreement by foreman, without affecting seniority. Longer dura- tion for personal reason may be given if requested in writing, is well-founded and doesn't hinder operations. Seniority – recall rights: 36 months for layoff, absence due to non-industrial sickness or non-industrial accident; 12 months for transfer to non- bargaining unit job. Call-in pay: Time and one-half after leaving company premises after completing full shift, or double time on scheduled or non-scheduled holiday. Mini- mum 4 hours when called in for meeting on off-day. Probationary period: 520 working hours. Severance: 1 week's pay for each year of service in first 5 years; 1.25 weeks' pay for each year after 5 years; 1.5 weeks' pay for each year after 15 years; 2 weeks' pay for each year after 15 years, up to 60 weeks' pay maximum. Uniforms/clothing: Employer will supply safety glasses as ap- proved by joint health and safety committee. Employer will pay price of first pair of prescription safety glasses as approved by joint health and safety com- mittee and replacement lenses when deteriorated through normal use at work. Employer supplies PPE and clothing on approved list.
