year or accept vacation pay in lieu of paid vacation at end of current year. Overtime: Time and one-half for work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Double time (minimum 4 hours of pay) for work on assigned days off; for work on sixth or sev- enth consecutive day of week. Medical benefits: Employer pays 80% of premiums, em- ployee pays 20% of premiums. Employees will be entitled to Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan and Fairmont Hotels and resorts group benefit plan for full-time unionized employ- ees. Dental: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums. Coverage of $1,500 per year (previously $1,400 per year). Orthodontics lifetime maximum of $1,000 for dependent children young- er than 18 years old. Vision: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums. Maximum cov- erage of $350 every 2 years. Paramedical: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums. $1,100 per year (previously $1,000 per year). Weekly indemnity: Employer pays 80% of premiums, em- ployee pays 20% of premiums. Coverage of $485 per week (previously $475 per week). Sick leave: 1 hour for each 81 regular hours paid in preced- ing year maximum 24 hours and will not be cumulative from year to year. AD&D: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums. Coverage of $60,000. Life insurance: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums. Cover- age of $60,000. Pension: Fairmont Hotels Pension Plan. Employer, em- ployee will contribute 3.2% of earnings up to yearly maxi- mum pensionable earnings (YMPE); 5% of earnings over yearly maximum pensionable earnings. Bereavement leave: 4 days for death of parent, mother-in- law, father-in-law, stepparent. 3 days for death of brother, sis- ter, grandparent, grandchild. If funeral is held outside Alberta and employee attends funeral, maximum 3 days will be in- creased to maximum 4 days. Seniority – recall rights: Period equal to employee's service, plus 6 months or 24 months from date of layoff, whichever is less. 9 months for employee occupying seasonal or temporary position at any other hotel of employer. Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours at time and one-half hourly rate for 4 hours or less and, if held on duty longer than 4 hours, compensation on minute-basis at time and one- half hourly rate or compensa- tion as if on continuous duty, if conditions justify (do not apply to employee who before leaving home is advised of can- cellation of call in). Probationary period: 480 working hours (excluding training hours maximum 10 training days) or after com- pleting 6 months of actual work, whichever comes first. Discipline: Sunset clause is 1 year for disciplinary letters, notations, suspensions. Safety shoes: $75 per year for employees (culinary, steward- ing, maintenance, receiving clerk, store person, banquet porters, housepersons, guest services) who are required to wear safety shoes (style and colour of shoes must be ap- proved by employer). Uniforms/clothing: Employ- ees required to wear uniforms will be supplied them by em- ployer free of charge; neces- sary valet , laundry service for uniforms will also be supplied by employer. Hat, coat, trou- sers and appropriate outer gar- ments for employees in kitch- en department will be supplied by employer free of charge. Tool allowance: Employer will reimburse cost of replacement tools, maximum $200 per year total, for kitchen, maintenance employees.
