Effective Dec. 1, 2021: 1% Effective Dec. 1, 2022: 1% Shift premium: $0.50 per hour for employee working on shift other than regularly scheduled day shift (not paid for any shifts starting within 2 hours of regu- larly scheduled shift). $0.50 per hour for designated first-aid persons. $2 dollars per hour for designated lead-hands. Paid holidays: 12 days plus day before Christmas. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 5% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 7% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 9% after 10 years, 5 weeks or 11% after 15 years, 6 weeks or 13% after 25 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for hours worked after 8 hours per day and double time for any hours worked after 10 hours per day, Monday through Friday. Time and one-half for work on Saturday or Sunday, if statutory holiday occurs during workweek and employees work to make up for time lost. Time and one-half for work on Satur- day; double time after 4 hours of work and on Sunday, when weekend days are rest days. Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Coverage of 80% for basic; 50% for major orthodon- tic; 50% for crown, bridgework. Basic, major allows for $3,000 maximum per person, per year. Orthodontics allows for maximum $3,000 per person lifetime. Becomes effective 1 year after date of hire. Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Maximum $225 per employee or dependant in 24-month period for purchase of lenses and frames or contact lenses when prescribed by per- son legally qualified to make prescription. AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $125,000. Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $125,000. Pension: Employer will con- tribute — for those employees choosing and with 1 or more years of service — 2.5% of gross annual earnings; each employ- ee will contribute 0.5% of gross earnings in each pay period to registered pension plan (RPP); employees will be allowed to contribute more than 0.5% if they so choose. Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (father, mother, father-in-law, mother-in-law, stepparents, stepchildren, spouse, common law spouse, child, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in- law, stepsiblings, grandfather, grandmother, grandchild, grandparents-in-law, son-in- law, daughter-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews). Seniority – recall rights: 6 months to start; 18 months, plus 2 additional months for each year of service, after 1 year of seniority. Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours' pay at double time or actual hours worked at double time. Discipline: Sunset clause is 1,040 worked hours for warn- ing slips; 2,080 worked hours for warning slips for major violations of employer's plant rules and policies. If additional warning slips for major viola- tions are handed out, both or all will remain on file for 2,080 worked hours from date of issuance of last warning. Severance: 5 days' pay (1 day is defined as 8 hours of straight- time pay) for each year of ser- vice and thereafter for partial years in increments of months of service with employer, max- imum 8 weeks' pay. Safety shoes: $100 payment (previously $175 per year) for boot and clothing allowance, paid on first pay period follow- ing May 31 and first pay period following Nov. 30 of each year. Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide: dust mask, res- pirators, safety goggles, face shields, welder's aprons, ear plugs, coveralls, gloves, hard hat, knee pads, earmuffs. Em- ployees who post into painter or mud/tape positions will be provided 2 pairs of cover- alls per year. Employer will purchase small inventory of parkas, rain jackets, rain pants for employees working outside during inclement weather. Tool allowance: Employer will replace broken and worn-out tools. Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 1% increase): Group 1 first 480 hours: $18.18 rising 1 step to $18.36 2 next 800 hours: $19.19 rising 1 step to $19.38 2 next 800 hours: $20.71 rising 1 step to $20.91 2 next 800 hours: $22.73 rising 1 step to $22.95 3 production (group A: cabinet set/cabinet shop/carpet in- stallation/ceilings/ceiling set, exterior, doors and windows, exterior sheathing, final fin- ish/floors lino/interior panels panel work off/janitor/laminate room/material handlers receiv- ers/moulding interior doors/ painter/partition set/roofing/ shipper/sidewalls/truss press/ walls): $26.50 rising 1 step to $26.76 4 (trades/drywall/electrical/ plumbing/plumbing tester/ap- prentice welders): $27.08 rising 1 step to $27.35 5 (welders class 1 and 2/pool crew): $$27.66 rising 1 step to $27.94 6 journeymen: $28.18 rising 1 step to $28.46 7 (CWB welder supervisor/ maintenance): $28.80 rising 1 step to $29.08 Editor's notes: Humanity fund: Employer will deduct $0.40 per hour weekly from wages of all employees as charitable dona- tion to humanity fund. Recall bonus: If layoff is less than or equal to 2 weeks, no recall bonus will be paid and employees will receive pay for statutory holidays; if layoff has been greater than 2 weeks, recall bonus calculated by way of amount of wages that would have been payable with respect to any statutory holidays falling during such layoff (maximum 4 statutory holidays). Edu- cation trust fund: Employer will contribute $0.03 per hour worked per employee to education fund. Seniority bonus: $0.05 per hour actually worked after 5 years of years of service; $0.15 per hour actually worked after 10 years of years of service; $0.30 per hour actually worked after 15 years of years of service; $0.50 per hour actually worked after 20 years of years of service.
