3 Canadian HR Reporter, a Thomson Reuters business 2018 CANADIAN LABOUR REPORTER COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS < from pg. 1 on Feb. 25, 2018 Effective Oct. 20, 2019: $0.50 per hour Lump-sum payment: $1,400 for employees who are on payroll on Oct. 18, 2020 Shift premium: $0.65 per hour for hours worked between beginning of afternoon shift and end of night shift. $0.60 per hour for work in freezer plant. $0.25 per hour for work between midnight Friday and midnight Saturday. $0.60 per hour for work between mid- night Saturday and midnight Sunday. $3 per hour for all work Saturday and Sunday. $0.50 per hour for lead-hand checkers. $0.50 per hour for lead-hands. Paid holidays: 10 days, plus last half of shift immediately prior to Christmas Day, New Year's Day. After 3 months of service, employees may take personal holiday once per year in month of birthday (except for Decem- ber birthday, in which case personal holiday must be taken between Nov. 16 and Dec. 15). Vacations with pay: 80 hours after 1 year, 120 hours after 5 years, 160 hours after 9 years, 200 hours after 16 years, 240 hours after 23 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or in excess of regular work week. Time and one-half for all work on day which should have been day off. Meal allowance: $3.75 if em- ployee works 10 hours or more. Dental: Employer will pay $0.41 per hour (previously $0.36 per hour) for all hours worked in distribution centres ($0.01-per-hour increase at call of trustees after Oct. 23, 2019), into Retail Wholesale Canada Multi-Employer Dental Benefit Trust Fund. Vision: $300 (previously $250) over 2 years for frames, lens, prescription glasses. $200 over 2 years for artificial eyes, vis- ual-training services, non-cos- metic prescriptions contact lens resulting from visual acuity of less than 20/40 or corneal disease. $50 per year for eye examinations. LTD: Coverage of 70% of basic earnings, maximum $2,500 per month (previously $2,210 per month). Pension: Employees hired after May 4, 2014, will contribute 1% on regular hours worked to pension plan. Bereavement leave: 3 days for death of father, mother, child, brother, sister, mother-in-law, father-in-law, stepparents, step- children, grandparent, grand- child, brother-in-law, sister-in- law, great-grandparents. Seniority – recall rights: 24 months. Call-in pay: Paid at time and one-half. Maximum 2 hours for call-ins before scheduled starting time. For call-ins after shift ends, minimum of 4 hours' pay at regular rate or time and one-half for number of hours worked, whichever is greater. Probationary period: 450 hours worked. Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months. Safety shoes: $160 over 2 years, after 3 months of service. Ef- fective Jan. 1, 2019: $225. Uniforms/clothing: Employ- er will continue to provide protective clothing. Employer will provide gloves, smocks (to permanent receivers, selectors, checkers handling produce, and to general warehousemen who regularly load at grocery distri- bution centre). Coveralls will be provided to permanent porters. Protective jacket will be provid- ed every 2 years to employees at perishable products distribu- tion centre. Tool allowance: Employer will replace tools broken or worn out by maintenance department employees while performing regular maintenance duties at distribution centres. Signed on Feb. 21, 2018. Shift premium: $0.70 per hour for second shift. $1 per hour for third shift. $1 per hour for fourth shift or swing shift. $1.25 per hour for employee assigned as relief supervisor. $1 per hour for employee assigned as lead-person. $0.50 per hour for operator 1 employees in mill- line of progression. Paid holidays: 10 days, plus day before New Year's Day and 2 personal holidays. Vacations with pay: 1 day per month worked, maximum 10 days or 4% to start, 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 10 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 18 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 26 years. Employees hired after March 1, 1997, will not be eligible for a fifth or sixth week of vacation. Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Double time for all work on second scheduled day off, provided 40 hours have been worked that week. Pension: All employees on seniority list on Jan. 1, 2015, will be grandfathered in current pension plan. All new hires starting Jan. 1, 2015, will be in new pension plan.
