March 11, 2019 4 Canadian HR Reporter, a Thomson Reuters business 2019 COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS Vision: 100% of maximum covered expense of $150 (pre- viously $125) for single-vision lenses and frames; $200 (pre- viously $175) for bifocal lenses and frames; $250 (previously $225) for trifocal and progres- sive-adaptive lenses and frames every 3 years. 80% covered, maximum $70 for eye exam- inations. 100% of maximum covered expense of $250 every 2 years for contact lenses when prescribed for severe corneal scarring, keratoconus or aphakia and if cornea is impaired so that visual acuity cannot be improved to at least to 20/40 level in better eye with eyeglasses. 1 pair of eyeglasses when prescribed by ophthal- mologist following non-refract- ive eye surgery, to 100% of life- time covered eligible expense of $200; 50% of cost of visual training or remedial therapy. Sick leave: 2 days for each month of service (1 day per month for those hired after May 4, 2004), maximum 480 days accumulated over 20-year period (240 days for those hired after May 4, 2004). For 12-hour shift workers: 15 hours for each 162.5 hours of service (7.5 hours for each 162.5 hours of service for those hired after May 4, 2004), maximum 3,600 hours accumulated over 20- year period (1,800 hours for those hired after May 4, 2004). AD&D: Coverage of 2 times current annual salary, max- imum $1,000,000. Life insurance: Employer pays 50% of premiums, em- ployee pays 50% of premiums for coverage of 2 times cur- rent annual salary, maximum $1,000,000. Pension: Public Service Pen- sion Plan. Bereavement leave: 3 days for death of mother, father, broth- er, sister, child, spouse, legal guardian, common-law-spouse, grandmother, grandfather, grandchild, mother-in-law, father-in-law, near relative liv- ing in same household. 1 day for death of son-in-law, daughter- in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in- law. Additional 2 days in cases where extraordinary circum- stances prevail Seniority – recall rights: 2 years; 2 years or 3,900 hours in any 3-year period for trans- fer/temporary assignment out- side of bargaining unit. Call-in pay: Minimum of 3 hours at applicable overtime rate. Employee will be paid the cost of transportation to and from place of work, maximum $10 for each callback or appro- priate kilometre rate. Probationary period: 487.5 working hours. Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months. Severance: Amount obtained by multiplying number of com- pleted years of employment by weekly salary, maximum 20 weeks' pay. Uniforms/clothing: $175 per year where employer requires uniform to be worn and em- ployees elect to purchase uniforms of own choosing. Car- penters, electricians, painters, plasterers, plumbers, stationery engineers, utility workers, and trades helpers will be supplied with coveralls as required. Appropriate rainwear will be available in maintenance de- partments for utility workers, watchmen when employees work outside in wet weather. Mileage: $0.315 per kilometre. $150 per year for employees who regularly use vehicle on employer business. $85 per month when employee is required as condition of em- ployment to have automobile at employee's disposal, plus $0.454 per kilometre for first 9,000 kilometres per year; $0.315 per kilometre for kilometres after 9,000 kilometres per year.
