3 Administrative Assistant's UPDATE When you share quality content with your network, you are showcasing you're a proud employee, and you're helping to educate your network. Be sure to add your own comments and context as to why people should click on the article or post. Final thoughts: Optimizing your LinkedIn profile and re-sharing posts that can benefit your network will un- doubtedly help you to increase your presence and help to brand yourself properly – both within your organization, and with your network at large. Stop hiding behind the curtain, and let people see your expertise and value. You deserve to shine! Stop hiding behind your exec (Part 2) In Part 1 last month, Leslie counselled AAU readers to post a professional-quality photo (STEP #1) and to "focus on a compelling headline that highlights who you are, and what you do (STEP #2)." Construct a powerful LinkedIn Summary that outlines your expertise. Re-share company posts to your own network. By Leslie Hughes You have 2,000 characters to let yourself shine online. Include your accomplishments, your proudest moments and the deliverables you're responsible for. Pep talk: I've written hundreds of LinkedIn profiles for executives and professionals in transition. Writing your Summary can be challenging. No one likes to talk about their accomplishments for fear they may be criticized. Here's why you need to stand in your value: A) No one is going to toot your horn for you. You bring value to your organization and people want to know your story. B) LinkedIn is the channel you're supposed to include all your accomplishments. C) Your experience is different from everyone else's. Just because you stand in the value of what you do doesn't mean you're "full of yourself." You can re- frame your "brags" by using phrases such as: • "I'm committed to helping our organization produce results." • "I'm honoured to have been recognized by my peers for ____________" • "Some people have described me as: ____________" Take a look at Minerva Sanchez Rudman's Summary. (Remember her and her compelling profile headline from last month?) She highlights what she does, and how she helps her target audience.
