(26 operators, welders, mechanics, mechanical foremen) and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), Local 1928 Renewal agreement: Effec- tive Jan. 1, 2019, to Dec. 31, 2020. Ratified on Dec. 17, 2018. Signed on Feb. 27, 2019. Wage adjustments: Effective Jan. 1, 2019: $0.80 per hour Effective Jan. 1, 2020: 1.5% Shift premium: $2 per hour for lead-hands. $0.40 per hour for all regular hours worked on Saturday. Operators will be paid time and one-half for each hour worked on Sunday. $0.50 per hour when for operators who work on Saturday of long week- end. $1 per hour for each hour worked between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. $3 dollars per hour for each hour engaged in finishing work by construction caterpil- lar, grader operators, mainte- nance grader operators. Paid holidays: 12 days. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks af- ter 1 year, 3 weeks after 3 years, 4 weeks after 8 years, 5 weeks after 15 years, 6 weeks after 25 years, 7 weeks after 35 years. Construction machine opera- tor will be allowed 1 additional week of vacation, provided that employee takes all of vacation entitlement (including ad- ditional week) between Dec. 1 and April 30. Overtime: Time and one-half for all work in excess of regular hours of work. Medical benefits: Employer pays maximum 90% of premiums, employee pays 10%. Employer will contribute $1,050 per year (previously $900 per year) for health spending account. Any unused balance will be carried forward into next year. Dental: Employer pays maxi- mum 90% of premiums, em- ployee pays 10%. Vision: Employer pays maxi- mum 90% of premiums, em- ployee pays 10%. Sick leave: 1.5 days per month, maximum 18 days per year, after completing probation. Maximum accumulation 100 days. Maximum 6 working days per year from accumulated sick leave to attend to personal business that normally cannot be attended to on day employee is regularly employed. Upon retirement, employee, with 20 years of service, and who is 55 years or older, will receive 80% of unused portion of accu- mulated sick leave (maximum payment 80 days). LTD: Employer pays maximum 90% of premiums, employee pays 10%. AD&D: Employer pays maxi- mum 90% of premiums, em- ployee pays 10% for coverage of maximum $200,000. Life insurance: Employer pays maximum 90% of premiums, employee pays 10%. Pension: All employees will join Local Authorities Pension Plan. Employer, employee will make contributions. Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in family (current spouse, parent, grandparent, grandchild, guardian, parent of current spouse, child, ward, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, fiancé). Seniority – recall rights: 18 months. Call-in pay: Minimum of 2 hours' pay at overtime rates. Employee will be paid from time they leave home until time they arrive back upon proceed- ing directly from work. Probationary period: 90 days. Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years. Safety shoes: $400 every 2 years for 1-time purchase of CSA-approved safety footwear. Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide 6 pairs of coveralls per year for mechanics/welders. Employer will provide 1 pair of coveralls every 6 months for operators. 1 pair of coveralls en- titlement may be exchanged for appropriate fall or winter cloth- ing supplied by employer Tool allowance: Employer will replace any tools that are worn for shop employees, servicemen who supply own tools. Mileage: $0.08 per kilometre above uniform rate for employ- ee who uses own automobile in course of employment (em- ployee hauls bulky and heavy materials, such as fence posts or like materials).
