Wage adjustments: Effective April 1, 2018: 2% Effective April 1, 2019: 2.5% Effective April 1, 2020: 3% Paid holidays: 11 days, plus Hamlet Day, Nunavut Day, one-half day off on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31. Vacations with pay: 1 1/4 days per month, maximum 15 days, to start, 1 1/2 days per month, maximum 18 days, after 2 years, 1 2/3 days per month, max- imum 20 days, after 5 years, 2 days per month, maximum 24 days, after 15 years, 2 1/4 days per month, maximum 27 days, after 20 years, 2 1/2 days per month, maximum 30 days, after 25 years, 3 days per month, maximum 36 days, after 25 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after regular hours, double time after 8 hours of overtime or on second or sub- sequent day of rest. May be banked, maximum 160 hours per year. Employee may carry over banked overtime from year to year but may not exceed maximum of 160 at any time. Medical benefits: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employ- ee pays 50% of premiums. Dental: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums. Sick leave:1 1/4 days per month, maximum 120 days credit. LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums. AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Pension: Northern Employers Benefit Services Pension Plan. Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse, common-law spouse, child, spouse's child, foster-child, sister, brother, parent, father-in-law, mother- in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in- law, aunt, uncle, grandparents, grandchildren. If funeral or memorial service takes place outside of Sanikiluaq or when additional time is required, employee may request use of available vacation time and re- quest will not be unreasonably denied. Seniority – recall rights: 12 months. Call-in pay: Greater of pay at appropriate overtime rate or pay equivalent to 4 hours' pay at straight-time rate. Probationary period: 1,040 hours for outside workers; 975 hours for office staff; 6 months for employee who is promoted or transferred to higher position. Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months. Severance: 2 week's pay after 3 months of service; additional week for each year of service, maximum 12 weeks. Uniforms/clothing: Employ- er will provide all protective devices, clothing, other equip- ment necessary to protect employees from injury and unhealthy work conditions. Employer will provide (for all employees in airport and main- tenance departments; truck drivers, truck assistants, recrea- tion coordinator, assistant recreation coordinator) sum- mer coveralls (fire-resistant); winter coveralls (fire-resistant, suitable for arctic operating conditions); parkas (suitable for arctic operating conditions; $500 every 3 years); summer safety boots; winter safety boots (suitable for arctic operating conditions); summer work gloves; winter work gloves; latex safety gloves; hard hats; safety glasses; ear protectors. Employ- er will provide (for bylaw officer and the uncertified bylaw offi- cer): summer safety boots; win- ter safety boots; 3-in-1 parka; latex gloves; 2 shirts; 2 pants; ball cap; equipment belt. Em- ployer will provide $200 per year (previously $100 per year) for laundering work clothing. Tool allowance: $1,000 (pre- viously $500), every April 1, for journeyman mechanic tools. Mileage: $0.58 per kilometre for business travel.
