September 23, 2019 4 Canadian HR Reporter, a HAB Press business 2019 COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS GOVERNMENT Government of Ontario Provincewide, Ontario (12,300 economists, economic policy researchers, analysts, arbitrators, project managers, actuaries) and the Association of Management, Administrative and Professional Crown Employees of Ontario (AMAPCEO) Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2018 to March 31, 2022. Signed on April 1, 2018. Wage adjustments: Effective April 1, 2019: 1% Effective Oct. 1, 2019: 1% Effective April 1, 2020: 1% Effective Oct. 1, 2020: 1% Effective April 1, 2021: 1% Effective Oct. 1, 2021: 1% Shift premium: $0.98 per hour for all regularly scheduled hours worked between 5 p.m. and 7 a.m. (when 50% of regu- larly scheduled hours worked fall within this period, premium will be paid for all regularly scheduled hours worked). Paid holidays: 12 days. Vacations with pay: 1 3/4 days per month or 21 days to start, 2 1/6 days per month or 26 days after 8 years, 2 3/5 days per month or 31 days after 15 years, 3 days per month or 36 days after 26 years. Addition 1-time bonus of 5 days after 25 years. Employee may accumulate vacation credits, maximum of twice annual vacation credits, but will be required to reduce accumulation to maximum 1 year's entitlement by Dec. 31 of each year. Overtime: Compensat- ing leave of 1 hour for each hour worked between 36.25 hours and 44 hours per work week; compensating leave of 1.5 hours for each hour worked in excess of 44 hours per work week. 1.5 hours compensating leave for each hour worked when employee work on day off. Leave must be taken within 2 months of pay period that ex- cess hours were worked. Com- pensating leave accumulated, that is not used before June 30 of following year, will be paid out. Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of basic dental care services (85% cover- age), denture services (50% coverage, lifetime maximum $3,000 per person), orthodontic services (50% coverage, lifetime maximum $3,000 per person, for dependent children between 6 and 18), major restorative ser- vices (50% coverage, maximum $2,000 per year). Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums (previously when employee chooses, employ- er pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of pre- miums). $340 per person in any 24-month for purchase, fitting or repair of spectacle lenses, frames or contact lenses prescribed by ophthalmologist or optometrist or laser eye cor- rection surgery performed by licenced practitioner. Cover- age will include reimburse- ment of cost of 1 routine eye examination every 24 months independent of vision-care maximum. Paramedical: $35 per vis- it, maximum of $1,200 for acupuncturist, chiropractor, osteopath, naturopath, podiat- rist, chiropodist, physiother- apist, masseur, if licenced (not subsidized by OHIP). $40 per visit, maximum of $1,400 for speech therapist, psychologist (coverage will also include services by social worker with master's degree in social work, where such services are equivalent to services provided by psychologist). Sick leave: 1 1/4 days for each month in which employee is at work, on vacation, bereave- ment, jury/witness leave. STD: Coverage of regular salary for first 6 working days; 75% of regular salary for additional 124 working days. LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums (previously employer pays 85%, employee pays 15% of premiums). Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Bereavement leave: 3 days for death of spouse, mother, father, stepmother, stepfather, moth- er-in-law, father-in-law, son, daughter, stepson, stepdaugh- ter, brother, sister, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, grandparent, stepgrandparent, grandchild, stepgrandchild, foster-child, ward, guardian, former guard- ian, former ward, foster-par- ent, former foster-parent. 3 day for death of aunt, uncle, niece, nephew. 2 additional days leave, without pay, to at- tend funeral if more than 800 kilometres from employee's residence. Seniority – recall rights: 24 months. Probationary period: 24 months for layoff. Discipline: Sunset clause is 3 years. Safety shoes: Purchase of safety shoes or boots for on-job protection of purchaser will be subsidized as per applicable practice in each ministry. Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide safety equipment, protective clothing where it requires that such be worn by employees. Mileage: Southern Ontario: $0.40 for 0 to 4,000 kilometres. $0.35 for 4,001 to 10,700 kilo- metres. $0.29 for 10,701 to 24,000 kilometres. $0.24 for more than 24,000 kilometres. Northern Ontario: $0.41 for 0 to 4,000 kilometres. $0.36 for 4,001 to 10,700 kilometres. $0.30 for 10,701 to 24,000 kilo- metres. $0.25 for more than 24,000 kilometres.
