Union (USW), Locals 2020, 5296, 9597, 5481 Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2020. Signed on April 29, 2019. Shift premium: $2 per hour when employer requires em- ployee to use personal vehicle as shelter. $0.50 an hour greater than highest paid security guard at site in which lead-hand is assigned for lead-hands. Paid holidays: 9 days plus Remembrance Day (new hires only after completion of 2 years of employment). Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 12 months, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 10% after 10 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 20 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 12 hours per day or 44 hours per week. Medical benefits: Employer will remit $0.70 (previously $0.68) for each hour employee has worked to Steelworkers Trusteed Benefit Plan. Effective Jan. 1 each year employer will pay $20,000 to Lifeline Foun- dation for employee assistance program. Sick leave: 4 days per year, after 1 year of service; 5 days per year, after 5 years of service. Pension: Employer will con- tribute 1% of employee's earn- ings (2% after 10 years of ser- vice) to Steelworkers Members' Pension Benefit Plan. Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse (which includes same- sex partner where pair has been cohabitating for minimum of 6 months), child, stepchild, mother, father, sister, brother, grandparent, mother-in-law, father-in-law). 2 days for death of grandchild, aunt, uncle, brother-in-law, sister-in-law. 2 extra days without pay will be given for travel more than 350 kilometres away. Seniority – recall rights: 12 consecutive months or length of seniority, whichever is shorter, for layoffs due to lack of work. Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours' pay at regular hourly rate. Probationary period: 90 cal- endar days (if employee has not worked minimum of 288 hours for 90 days, probation will be extended until 288 hours are worked). Discipline: Sunset clause is 15 months. Safety shoes: $120 per year (previously $100 per year) where safety boots or safety shoes are required due to client requirements or as established by joint health and safety com- mittee. Uniforms/clothing: Employ- er will provide 2 pants, 2 ties, 4 uniform shirts. Employer will provide, where required, 1 belt, 1 sweater, 1 spring jacket, 1 safety vest, 1 bullet-proof vest, 1 winter coat, 1 hard hat. Em- ployer will make available par- kas, toques, raincoats at any site where employee is routinely ex- posed to elements (rain, cold). Where required, employer will provide equivalent feminine clothing for females including appropriate maternity clothing. Mileage: Mileage at standard rate allowed by Canada Rev- enue Agency each year when employees who travel outside of 40-kilometre radius from branch office or place of resi- dence, whichever is closer, to attend training. Sample rates of pay (current, after 0.6% increase): Minimum basic wage rate: $14.17 rising 1 step to $14.26 Minimum basic wage rate GTA (cities of Toronto, Markham, Vaughan, Mississauga and Brampton) for employees with 5 or more years' seniority: $14.47 rising 1 step to $14.56 Minimum basic wage rate outside GTA for employees with 5 or more years' seniority: $14.42 rising 1 step to $14.51 Editor's notes: Canadian citizenship: Employer will allow unpaid leave of absence for day when Canadian citizen- ship is received. Security licence: For employees with 3 or more years of service, employer will reimburse full cost for renewing required licences. Education fund: Employer will contribute $0.02 per hour for all hours worked to steel- workers security officers education fund. Humanity fund: Employer will deduct $0.01 per hour for all hours worked to steelworkers humanity fund. Transportation: Employer will provide transportation to and from employee's place of residence (except in cases outside of employer's control such as public transit strike) when employee is required to commence or end work where public transportation is not available. HAZARDOUS WASTE Tri-Line Carriers Rocky View, Alta. (50 truck drivers) and Teamsters Canada, Local 362 Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2023. Signed on Aug. 21, 2018. Shift premium: $75 when employee is sent out as driver trainer (driver may be required to submit written report of ob- servations). Paid holidays: 10 days. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 10 years. Medical benefits: Prairie Teamsters Health and Welfare Plan, after 90 days of service. Employer pays 50% plus $55, for $370-per-month cost of plan, employee pays remainder. Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate fam- ily (spouse, children, parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, grandchildren). Additional day off will be given to attend funer- al if it doesn't take place within those 3 days. Seniority – recall rights: 12 months. Probationary period: 90 cal- endar days. Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months for written repri- mands or warning letters for ac- cidents; 12 months for all other violations. Safety shoes: $175 per year for CSA-approved safety boots. Sample rates of per-load pay (current, after 9.3% increase): Drivers Coronation (Calgary) 0 to 2 years: $280 rising 4 steps to $306.05 Shift premium: $2 per hour when employee uses personal vehicle as shelter.
