(administration). Owner-oper- ators hired after date of ratifica- tion will be eligible for benefits on first of month following 6 months of employment. Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse, mother, father, son, daughter, sister, brother, moth- er-in-law, father-in-law, step- sons, stepdaughters). Seniority – recall rights: 12 months; 18 months after 5 years of service; 90 days if owner-operator takes position within company which is be- yond sphere of bargaining unit. 1 day to attend funeral for death of grandfather, grandmother or owner-operator's spouse's grandfather, grandmother (conditions will apply only if owner-operator attends funeral). Probationary period: 60 ef- fectively worked days (previ- ously 65 working days). Discipline: Sunset clause is 15 months. Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide each owner-oper- ator with $275-per-year uni- form allowance for clothing ordered with employer or one of its designated suppliers. All owner-operators are required to wear uniform during course of employment, keeping it clean and in good repair. Employer will provide owner-operators with safety equipment if re- quired by customer. Sample rates of hourly pay (current): Owner-operators class 1-trac- tor (work time/wait time/lay- over time) Wheels not turning: $30 Wheels not turning (ALC): $41 Drop rate (per stop): $35 Sample rates of per-drop pay (current, after 2.3% increase): 0 to 300 miles: $42 rising 2 steps to $42.95 Sample rates of per-mile pay (current, after 1.5% increase): 300 to 600 miles: $1.32 rising 2 steps to $1.34 600+ miles: $1.30 rising 2 steps to $1.33 Sample rates of per-trip pay (current, after 2% increase): UPS freight: $495.85 rising 2 steps to $505.85 UPS SCS: $495.85 rising 2 steps to $505.85 $1,000 at date of ratification 1-time signing bonus Editor's notes: Business tools: Employer will provide: company IDs; company-issued cell phones, GPS, any other communication devices; installation and maintenance will be paid for by employer; cost of decal and installation; tolls if directed by employer to take toll route; FAST card. Licence tests: Employer will be responsible for costs in- curred for drivers' abstracts. If employer requires more than 1 abstract per year, employer will pay costs of additional abstracts and for all administration costs. Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide each owner-operator with $275-per-year uniform allowance.
