Wage adjustments: Effective July 1, 2019: 2% Effective July 1, 2020: 2% Effective July 1, 2021: 2% Shift premium: 7% per hour for every hour worked up to 8:30 a.m. for on-call clerk who commences work before 8 a.m. in order to contact employees. $2 per hour recruitment/reten- tion supplemental pay will be provided to HVAC technician positions and related foreman position. $0.30 per hour for OFA (occupational first aid) level 1; $0.90 per hour for OFA level 2. Paid holidays: 12 days. Entitlement will remain valid even if employee's employment is terminated prior to end of period in which en- titlement applies. Overtime: Time and one-half for first 3 hours worked after normal hours; double time thereafter. Double time for all work after end of normal shift on Friday until beginning of normal shift on Monday. May be taken as time off in lieu. All compensating time off credited during year, but which has not been granted to employee by March 31 or by end of spring break holiday, whichever is later, of following year, will be paid in cash. Meal allowance: $5 after 4 hours or more of overtime. Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums to Public Education Benefit Trust (PEBT). Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums to Public Education Benefit Trust (PEBT). Sick leave: Upon appointment, employee will receive advance of 10 days. Thereafter, credits will be earned at rate of 20 days per year, 10 days per half year, 1.5 days per month for less than half-year. Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums to Public Education Benefit Trust (PEBT). Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of wife, husband, com- mon-law spouse, child, mother, father, brother, sister, mother- in-law, father-in-law, foster-par- ent, grandparent, grandchild; any other relative living in same household; person for whom employee is required to be pri- marily responsible for organiz- ing funeral. Employer may grant additional leave with pay where physical arrangements of funer- al cannot be accomplished in 5 days because of circumstances beyond control of employee. 1 day to attend funeral of persons not covered. Seniority – recall rights: 12 months. Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours' credit from time of call, plus mileage, including travelling time to and from employee's place of residence. Probationary period: 3 months. Safety shoes: $180 tax for em- ployees required to wear safety footwear to purchase 1 pair of boots from approved supplier that meets required safety stan- dards. Uniforms/clothing: Employer pays 50% of cost, employee pays 50% of cost for uniforms for custodial, maintenance staff. Rain gear will be provided for carpenters, electricians, heating personnel, plumbers, elemen- tary school student supervisors. Rain gear will be provided for each regular crossing guard. Each elementary school will be provided with 1 set of rain gear for custodians. Employer will provide 6 pairs of coveralls for mechanical trades for all emer- gency dirty jobs. Coveralls will be available for grounds person- nel. Employer will provide lab- coat allowance of $40 (payable in last pay period in September each year) to science lab assist- ants who work 25 or more hours per week. Tool allowance: Employer will pay insurance deductible, maximum $100, or will replace damaged, non-usable or lost tools in circumstances where tradesperson has provided due care for safekeeping.
