Vacations with pay: 1 to 15 days (based on month entering service) to start, 3 weeks after 1 year, 4 weeks after 2 years (4 weeks after 7 years for employees hired after April 15, 2019), 5 weeks after 17 years, 6 weeks after 25 years. Upon termination of employment, employee will be paid out pro-rated amount of vacation based on number of months worked prior to termination, less any vacation time already taken. Time may be banked, maximum 75 hours at any given time (may be carried over year-to-year). Overtime: Double time for all hours worked after 8 hours per day or 75 hours per pay period. Employees will be allowed one-half day off with pay when attending funeral as pallbearer. If employee is required to travel more than 250 kilometres round-trip to attend funeral as pallbearer, employee will be allowed additional one-half day off with pay. Employee may be granted 3 hours of leave, without pay, to attend funeral of member of CUPE, Local 70 or member of CUPE, Local 70 executive committee. Seniority – recall rights: 24 months for layoffs; 6 months for employee who is appointed to excluded position. Call-in pay: Minimum of 3 hours. For in-service or staff meetings requiring attendance, minimum will be 2 hours. Probationary period: 975 accumulated hours. Any absences, maximum 75 hours, will be added to probationary period. Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months.
