Canadian HR Reporter, a HAB Press business 2020 COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS CONSTRUCTION Greater Toronto Sewer and Watermain Contractors Association Toronto (3,120 construction workers) and Teamsters, Local 230 and the Labourers' International Union of North America (LiUNA), Local 183 Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2019 to April 30, 2022. Signed on Nov. 22, 2019. Shift premium: $4 per hour more than highest rate paid to labourers in working foreman's regular and permanent crew when working foreman is appointed by employ- er. $3.28 per hour for night shifts that begin, and have majority of hours between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. $1 above base labourers' rate for box-sewer carpenter; $0.80 above base labourers' rate for reinfor- cing-rod installer when working on contract titled box-culvert project. Compressed air: $16 for 1 to 14 psi; $19.50 for 15 to 20 psi; $23.50 for 21 psi (additional $2 per pound for each pound over 21, in addition to 21-psi rate). $3.28 per hour (previously $3.18 per hour) will be paid for work performed on second or third shift Paid holidays: 10 days. Vacations with pay: 10% of gross wages earned for vacation and statutory holiday pay credits. Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 9 or 10 hours per day or 50 hours per week or on Satur- days; double time for all work on Sundays or holidays (except for watchmen). Time and one-half for all work on seventh consecutive shift (watchmen only). Meal allowance: $16.39 per day for jobs that are at least 110 kilo- metres from employer's premises, after 12 hours of time worked, ex- cluding travel time. Medical benefits: Employer will contribute to Teamsters Local, 230 welfare plan or LiUNA, Local 183 members' benefit fund. Pension: Central and Eastern Canada Labourers' International Union Pension Fund. Uniforms/clothing: Employer will supply safety helmets to em- ployees at no cost to employee. When employees are required to perform duties in wet weather, employers will supply suitable protective clothing, including quality rubber boots, rain suits. On all tunnel projects, when em- ployees perform duties in wet or abnormal conditions such as water, dust, noise, employer will provide suitable protective cloth- ing, equipment including quality rubber boots, rain suits, gloves. Tool allowance: On projects where employer provides locked- up facilities for employees to store tools and clothing, employer will reimburse employee, maximum $300 for loss due to fire or theft resulting from break-in to locked- up facilities. Mileage: $0.60 per road kilo- metre, 1 way from boundary of beyond Greater Toronto free zone, for travel driving (payment is not made when: company transportation to job is supplied; straight-time pay, maximum 1.5 hours of pay per day 1 way from boundary of the free zone is paid to employee).
