other employees required to work in dock department for more than 2 hours per shift. Employer will provide all nec- essary equipment, clothing, goggles to protect employees handling hazardous material, green hides, lampblack and pigment. Employees requested to work in terminal yard in inclement weather will be pro- vided with protective rainwear. Drivers, shunters, dock men will be provided with 2 pairs of work gloves per year. Mileage: Drivers on highway operations: $0.5429 per mile rising 2 steps to $0.5649 per mile (2 and 3 axles), $0.5451 per mile rising 2 steps to $0.5671 (4, 5 and 6 axles), 0.5471 per mile rising 2 steps to $0.5692 per mile (7 axels and up). $4 per mile less for first 12 months of employ- ment, $2 per mile less for second 12 months of employ- ment. Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 4% increase): Drivers: $25.39 rising 2 steps to $26.42 Checkers: $25.38 rising 2 steps to $26.41 Dock men: $25.28 rising 2 steps to $26.31 Casuals: $20.19 rising 2 steps to $21 ($2 per hour less than above rates for first 12 months of em- ployment; $1 per hour less for second 12 months.) Editor's notes: Supervisory promotions: Employees promoted to supervisor positions not in bargaining unit will retain seniority for 180 calendar days. Notice of closure: Employer must give at least 60 days' written notice to union of terminal closure or transfer of work to another terminal. Adequate supplies: All power units will have adequate heaters, wind- shield wipers and washers, air conditioners and defrosters. Driver's licence: Employees requiring driver's licence for work reimbursed maximum $128 for medical fees for required driving licence medical exams (Effective March 24, 2022: $138). Holdovers: No driver will be held over away from home terminal on general holiday or on Sunday. Employer will cover cost of moving for any employee transferred at its request. Away-from-home medicals: If employer elects to have employ- ee examined in another city which is not adjacent to employee's home community, employee will be supplied transporta- tion to and from city and be paid at regular hourly rate for time involved. Mileage limitations: At home terminals, high- way drivers will have right to decline further work when they have accumulated 45 hours or 1,800 miles in any week. No driver will be dispatched from home terminal when driver has accumulated 2,200 miles in 1 week. When driver at foreign terminal has reached 2,200 miles in 1 week, driver must be dispatched on trip directly en route to home terminal. Plug-in outlets: In areas generally referred to as Northern Ontario (including Barrie and Midland), employer will supply electri- cal plug-in outlets for all employees' cars while on duty. Any new terminals in Peterborough, Lindsay, Ottawa, Pembroke areas will also have facilities supplied. GOVERNMENT Municipal District of Provost No. 52 Provost, Alta. (40 mechanics, foremen, operators, labourers, applicators, inspectors) and the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE), Local 955 Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2020 to Dec. 31, 2021. Ratified on Sept. 19, 2019. Signed on Oct. 28, 2019. Wage adjustments: Effective Jan. 1, 2020: 1.75% Effective Jan. 1, 2021: 1.75% Shift premium: $4 per hour rising 1 step to $4.07 per hour for lead-hands. Paid holidays: 12 days. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 2 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 5 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 20 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 30 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for all work in excess of full shift; work after 10 hours per day or 50 hours per week or 191 hours per month (sum- mer); work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week or 174 hours per month (winter); for all hours worked on Satur- day, Sunday. Double time for overtime on statutory holiday. Time may be banked and taken off in lieu. Medical benefits: Employer pays 65% of premiums, employ- ee pays 35% of premiums for Alberta Health Care premiums. Employer pays 100% of extend- ed health coverage premiums for employee and family. Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Sick leave: 1.5 days of sick leave for each month em- ployed, maximum accumu- lation of 90 days of leave. Employees must work 1 full month before they are eligible to take sick leave. LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 66 2/3% from 120 days. AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 2 times annual salary. Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for cover- age of 2 times annual salary. Pension: In addition to Canada Pension Plan, all full- time employees will join Local Authorities Pension Plan after 1 year of service. Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse, fiancé, guardian ward, grandparent of spouse, parent, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son, daughter, father-in-law, mother-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, son- in-law, daughter-in-law). Ad- ditional 2 days when there are extenuating circumstances or required travel is greater than 400 kilometres 1-way. One- half day off to pay respects for death of current employee or current member of council on day of funeral, should it fall on regular working day. Seniority – recall rights: 9 months for layoffs. Employee will not lose seniority rights if employee is absent because of sickness, accident, approved leave of absence. 60 days when employee is temporarily relieving in different classi- fication for 60 days or less or when employee is temporarily recalled in different classifica- tion for 60 days or less. Probationary period: 3 months. Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months for past disciplinary reports. Safety shoes: $100 per year for seasonal employees. Tool allowance: $1,000 per year for mechanics who are required by employer to sup- ply own hand tools. Employees who supply personal impact wrenches, portable generators that become stolen, broken, damaged will be repaired or replaced at no cost to em- ployee.
