Effective June 1, 2019: 3% Effective June 1, 2020: 2.75% Effective June 1, 2021: 3% Shift premium: 2 hours of pay if employer reschedules employee's shift with less than 48 hours' advance notice. $0.50 per hour for hours worked between midnight and 6 a.m., providing half shift or more is scheduled or worked after midnight. $0.50 per hour for hours worked between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., providing half shift or more is scheduled or worked after 8 p.m. $1.75 per hour for lead-hands. Paid holidays: 11 days. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 10 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for all time worked in excess of basic workweek or workday (compensating time off will not be given in lieu of overtime pay). Medical benefits: Employer pays 80%, employee pays 20% of premiums. Vision: $250 every 24 con- secutive months. Sick leave: 1 day per month to start; 5 days on Jan. 1, plus 1 day per month, maximum 10 days per year, after 1 year of service. Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate fam- ily (spouse, parent, child, sibling, same-sex partner, current stepparents, current stepchildren, current mother- in-law, current father-in-law, current stepsiblings). 3 days for death of grandparent. 1 day for death of brother-in- law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law. Seniority – recall rights: 6 months for layoffs. Probationary period: 90 cal- endar days. Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months for all forms of disciplines or reprimands, with exception of disciplines resulting from violence, ha- rassment, discrimination. Safety shoes: $70 per year; $90 per year for all service agents, mechanics, rovers and shuttlers, utility agents. Uniforms/clothing: Special clothing, such as raincoats, toques, ear-bands, parkas, will be supplied by employer when appropriate. Employer will supply all needed uni- forms. Sample rates of pay (cur- rent, after $0.25-hour in- crease): Rental-sales agents: $15.75 rising 1 step to $16 Service agents: $16 rising 1 step to $16.25 Rover agents: $16.25 rising 1 step to $16.50 Shuttlers: $15.25 rising 1 step to $15.50 Utility agents: $17 rising 1 step to $17.25 Mechanics: $18.90 rising 1 step to $19.90 Editor's notes: Travel time: Employee who is transferred (at request of employer) from 1 location to another during regu- lar working day, will be paid regular rate for all travelling time. HEALTH CARE Prince Edward Island Department of Health Provincewide, Prince Edward Island (1,160 administrative, professional, technical employees) and the International Union of Operating Engineers, (AFL-CIO / CLC), Local 942 Renewal agreement: Effec- tive April 1, 2018 to March 31, 2022. Signed on Aug. 2, 2019. Shift premium: $2.75 per hour for work performed between 5 p.m. and 7 a.m., providing majority of shift falls within this time period. $2 per hour (previously $1.75 per hour) for work performed between midnight Friday and midnight Sunday. Paid holidays: 11 days, plus 1 floating holiday. Vacations with pay: 9.375 working hours for each 162.5 hours worked to start, 112.5 hours after 1 year, 150 hours after 5 years, 187.5 hours after 15 years, 232.5 hours after 25 years. Employees who make reasonable efforts to schedule vacation within year earned and following fiscal year, and are denied, will be eligible to carry forward to next vacation year requested, but denied, vacation time. Employer may grant additional 37.5 hours of vacation to employees who volunteer not to take any leave (paid or unpaid) between June 15 and Sept. 15. Overtime: Time and one-half for all work in excess of 37.5 hours averaged over 4-week period. Double time after 15 consecutive hours of work. May be taken as time off in lieu. If alternate time off can- not be scheduled prior to end of fiscal year, payment will be made at applicable overtime rate. Employees may carry forward maximum 52.5 hours of unused time in lieu into next fiscal year. All unused time in lieu that is not carried forward will be paid out prior to March 31 of each fiscal year at time requested by employee. Medical benefits: Employer pays 50% of premiums, em- ployee pays 50% of premiums. Dental: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums. Sick leave: 11.25 hours for each 162.5 paid hours, maxi- mum accumulation of 215 days. LTD: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums. Life insurance: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums. Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of parent, spouse, common-law spouse, brother, sister, child, stepchild, ward of employee, child of common- law spouse, grandparent, grandchild. 3 days for death of stepbrother, stepsister, mother- in-law, father-in-law, sister-in- law, brother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law. Additional 5 days if burial occurs outside of province. 1 day to attend funeral of aunt, uncle, nephew, niece, greatgrandchild, great- grandparent. One-half day to attend funeral as pallbearer, flower-bearer, reader. Seniority – recall rights: 18 months for layoffs; 12 months if employee is excluded from or transferred outside of bargain- ing unit.
