COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS Editor's notes: Shift schedules: Compressed 24-hour shift schedule for fire-suppression employees. Any 24-hour period on duty must be followed by minimum of 20 hours off-duty. Recognition pay: 3% after 8 years of service, 6% after 17 years of service, 9% after 23 years of service. Physicals: Each firefighter to have complete physical examination every 18 months, covered by employer. Pregnancy/parental leave: Top-up of EI benefits of 75% of regular earnings for up to 25 weeks (15 weeks' pregnancy leave and 10 weeks' parental leave). Sick-leave gratuity: One-half of sick leave credit at rate of employee's daily wage at time of retirement, death, termination, maximum 6 months' earnings. Medical certificate: If employer requires employee to produce medical certificate, employer will reimburse, maximum $50, for certificate. Hearing aids: Maximum $500 per year. JANITORIAL SERVICES ACDEN Bee-Clean, operated by Bee-Clean Industrial Fort McMurray, Alta. (750 drivers, cleaning employees) and the Construction and General Workers Union, (LiUNA) Local 92 Renewal agreement: Effective Nov. 16, 2018 to Nov. 15, 2021. Signed on Sept. 14, 2018. Wage adjustments: Effective Nov. 16, 2018: $0.07 per hour Effective Nov. 16, 2019: $0.08 per hour Effective Nov. 16, 2020: $0.10 per hour Shift premium: $0.50 per hour for work on afternoon shift (shift that includes any hours worked after 8 p.m.). $0.50 per hour for first 6 months, $1 per hour thereafter, for work on night shift (shift that includes any hours worked after 2 a.m.). Employer will maintain paid lunch for afternoon shift at Syncrude, however, if client no longer provides paid lunch, employer will implement $0.50-per-hour shift premium. $0.95/$0.98 per hour for team- leads. Paid holidays: 9 days. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% to start, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, Medical benefits: Employer pays 50% of premiums, em- ployee pays 50% of premiums. Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse, child, step- child, parent, stepparent, sister, brother, mother-in-law, father- in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in- law, grandparent, grandchild. Seniority – recall rights: 6 months following date of lay- off or length of employment (maximum 12 months), which- ever is greater. Probationary period: 504 hours of actual work. Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months for verbal, writ- ten warnings; 24 months for suspension (except for those that involved violation of law, including human rights, breach of client trust or drug or alco- hol issue. Safety shoes: $140 per year (previously $130 per year), after 6 months of employment, for initial purchase of safety boots.
