COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS GOVERNMENT County of Forty Mile #8 Foremost, Alta. (60 municipal employees) and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), Local 3395 Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2019 to Dec. 31, 2022. Ratified on Aug. 6, 2019. Signed on Nov. 5, 2019. Shift premium: $1 per hour for labourers while operating 3-ton spray truck. $1 per hour for em- ployees working shifts whereby majority of shift falls between 5 p.m. and 7 a.m. Paid holidays: 12 days. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks af- ter 1 year, 3 weeks after 2 years, 4 weeks after 9 years, 5 weeks after 18 years, 6 weeks after 25 years. Overtime: Paid after 191 hours per month for public works, construction. Time and one- half for all worker after 8 hours per day for public works shop. Time and one-half for all work after 10 hours per day for public works construction, mainte- nance, agricultural employees (between April 1 to Oct. 31 for agricultural). Time and one-half for all work after 7 hours per day for office staff. No employee will be required to take time off in lieu of overtime but time may be taken off in lieu, maximum 20 hours at any 1 time. All banked hours must be used prior to end of season for seasonal employ- ees or by end of December for full-time employees. Medical benefits: Employer pays 85% of premiums, employ- ee pays 15% of premiums for Alberta Health Care, Blue Cross Medical Plan NODECO Con- tract. Employer will contribute $744 per year ($62 per month) for each employee requiring family coverage $372 per year ($31 per month) for each em- ployee requiring single coverage to personal health spending account. Dental: Employer pays 85% of premiums, employee pays 15% of premiums. Coverage of 100% for routine treatments; 50% coverage of major treatment, orthodontic treatments. Vision: $300 for each 2-year period for eye glasses. Sick leave: 2 days per month, maximum 125 working days. LTD: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums for coverage under Alberta Municipal Employee Benefits Service. AD&D: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums. Pension: All eligible employees will participate in Local Au- thorities Pension Plan. Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse, mother, mother-in-law, stepmother, father, father-in- law, stepfather, brother, sister, daughter, stepdaughter, daugh- ter-in-law, son, stepson, son-in- law, brother-in-law, sister-in- law, grandchild, grandmother, stepgrandmother, grandfather, stepgrandfather, aunt, uncle). Additional 2 days for travel, if necessary. 1 day to attend fu- neral as pallbearer. Seniority – recall rights: 12 months for layoffs. Call-in pay: Time and one-half when called in on day or days off. Minimum of 2 hours at time and one-half for emergency call-in. Probationary period: 6 work- ing months. Uniforms/clothing: Oiling, patching employees will be sup- plied with 2 pairs of coveralls initially and replaced upon presenting worn-out pair. All full-time shop-maintenance employees (mechanics, welders) will be initially supplied with 4 pairs of coveralls and replaced upon presenting worn-out pair. Employer will supply launder- ing equipment at Foremost and Bow Island Public Works Shops. $150 per year for CSA-approved safety apparel (if no purchase is made in first year, employee will be entitled to $300 in second year for CSA apparel). Full-time outside workers, while per- forming repairs during winter months, will be supplied with 2 pair of coveralls. Seasonal employees will be entitled to 1 pair of coveralls. Employees in mechanic's classification will be issued mechanics anti-vibration gloves as required. On-call pay: 4 hours of pay for each day employee is required to be on standby for equipment opera- tors; 4 hours of pay per day for utility operators or relief utility operators on-call on weekends, statutory holidays. Retirement payment: 2 days pay for every year of service for employees who retire and are in receipt of Local Authorities Pension Plan pay- ments. Medicals: Employer will grant time off with pay and pay costs of medical examination required by employee to perform duties when medical is requested. Safety glasses: Employer will provide safety glasses where eye injury may occur, including $100 per year for prescription safety lenses. St. John's courses: Employer will pay costs incurred by employee so that employee will suffer no loss from taking St. John's safety-certificate courses.
