COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS for all work after 8 hours per day (5-day week) or after 10 hours per day (4-day week) or after 40 hours per week. Time and one-half for all time spent of employer-required training. Medical benefits: Employer pays 80% of premiums, em- ployee pays 20% of premiums. Dental: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums. STD: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums for coverage of 57% of employee's week- ly earnings. Employee will earn one-half day for each 3 months of employment, max- imum 3 days banked, as relief days which are to be applied to standard wait period as- sociated with approved STD claims. LTD: Employee pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $1,200 per month. Life insurance: Employer pays 80% of premiums, em- ployee pays 20% of premiums for coverage of $20,000. Pension: Prairie Teamsters Pension Plan. Employer will contribute $1.25 per hour to start; $1.50 per hour after 12 months of service; $2 per hour after 24 months of ser- vice for new full-time employ- ees hired or promoted after date of ratification. Employer will contribute $2.75 per hour (previously $2.50 per hour) for existing full-time employ- ees at date of ratification. Bereavement leave: 3 days, within 30 days following, for death in family (spouse, adult interdependent partner, mother, stepmother, father, stepfather, children, step- children, sisters, brothers, grandmother, grandfather, mother-in-law, father-in-law). 1 additional day for travel for funeral services held more than 300 kilometres from place of work. 3 unpaid days per year when employee attends funeral of extended family member not specific- ally listed. Seniority – recall rights: 120 days of layoff or when employee receives leave of absence to take position with employer which is beyond sphere of bargaining unit. Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours' pay at regular overtime pay provisions. After com- pletion of duty employee is called for, employee may book off with minimum of 2 hours' pay at overtime rate, provid- ed there is no further work. Should employee elect to book off earlier than 4 hours, employee will only be paid for hours actually worked forego- ing minimum 4 hours' pay. Probationary period: 90 cal- endar days; 280 hours of work in any 56 calendar days for part-time employees who will become full-time employees. Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for reprimand letters. Safety shoes: $100 for safety footwear (must be grade 1, green triangle, CSA-approved footwear). Uniforms/clothing: Em- ployer will provide uniforms, coveralls. Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 2% increase): For existing full-time employ- ees at date of ratification Warehouseman/driver Less than 18 months: $21.60 rising 2 steps to $22.04 18 to 24 months: $23.85 rising 2 steps to $24.33 Over 24 months: $25.50 rising 2 steps to $26.02 Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 1% increase): For full-time employees hired or promoted after date of rati- fication Warehouseman/driver Less than 12 months: $20.10 rising 2 steps to $20.30 13 to 24 months: $21 rising 2 steps to $21.21 25 to 42 months: $21.75 rising 2 steps to $21.97 43 to 54 months: $22.75 rising 2 steps to $22.98 55 to 66 months: $23.25 rising 2 steps to $23.48 Over 66 months: $24 rising 2 steps to $24.24 Warehouseman/part-time Less than 1,375 hours: $18.82 More than 1,375 hours: $19.20 More than 2,750 hours: $19.50 Editor's notes: Industry fund: Employer will contribute $0.05 per hour for each hour worked, maximum 168 hours per month, for each employee, dependent contractor covered by collective agreement to Teamsters union industry advance- ment fund. Maximum 5 days per year for observance of religious holidays. Vacations with pay: 1 day per month up to 10 days to start, 10 days after 1 year, 15 days after 3 years, 16 days after 6 years, 17 days after 7 years, 20 days after 8 years, 21 days after 11 years, 22 days after 13 years, 23 days after 15 years, 24 days after 17 years, 25 days after 18 years, 26 days after 21 years, 27 days after 22 years, 28 days after 23 years, 29 days after 24 years, 30 days after 25 years. 35 days after 30 years, for that year only. Maximum 5 vacation days may be carried over to following year (must be taken within following vaca- tion year) for employees work- ing on 12-month basis, and who are entitled to 16 days of vacation or more Overtime: Time and one-half for hours in excess of regular hours per day or week and all hours on Saturday when not normally scheduled to work on Saturday. Double time for all hours worked on Sunday when not normally scheduled to work on Sunday, and all hours on statutory holidays. Employee may earn lieu time, maximum of employee's weekly FTE but balances must be depleted by Aug. 31 of each year or remaining balances will be paid out. Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for CUPE Education Workers Benefit Trust. Sick leave: 11 days per year. STD: 120 days at 90% pay per year. LTD: Employee pays 100% of premiums for Great West Life Insurance Long Term Disabil- ity Plan. Pension: Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System.
