HEALTH CARE Yukon Hospital Whitehorse, Yukon (250 hospital support staff ) and the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada (PIPSC) Renewal agreement: Effective June 5, 2020 to Jan. 31, 2022. Signed on June 5, 2020. Wage adjustments: Effective Feb. 1, 2019: 1.75% Effective Feb. 1, 2020: 1.75% Effective Feb. 1, 2021: 1.75% Shift premium: 10% of straight time rate for all hours worked on Saturday, Sunday and gen- eral holidays; before 8 a.m., Monday to Friday inclusive; after 4 p.m. Monday to Friday inclusive, for registered nurse on shift work when in charge of unit. $3.25 per hour for all hours worked between 4 p.m. and 8 a.m., including overtime hours (premium will not be paid for any hours worked be- tween 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.). $3.25 per hour for all hours worked, including overtime hours, be- tween 10 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. Monday. $0.60 per hour for employee assigned precep- toring duties with approved post-secondary student. Time and one-half for first 4 hours worked; double time for all hours worked thereafter on first shift in changed schedule for employees who are given less than 4 calendar days ad- vance notice of change in shift schedule. Paid holidays: 13 days. Vacations with pay: 12.5 hours per month to start, 15.625 hours per month after 4 years, 17.5 hours per month after 10 years, 18.75 hours per month after 15 years, 21.875 hours per month after 26 years. Employee will be credited with additional 37.5 hours vacation leave in long-service bank after each 5 years of employment. Unused vacation time may be carried over, maximum 375 hours. Overtime: Time and one-half for first 4 hours worked; double time thereafter, for work in excess of scheduled hours or hours worked after 37.5 per week or for work on first day of rest. Double time for work on second or subsequent days of rest. Time may be accumulated as compensatory time off, max- imum 150 hours. Leave will be paid out as of March 31 in any year or employees may set aside maximum 150 hours to be car- ried over for use in next year. Meal allowance: $16 for em- ployee who works 3 or more hours of overtime immediately before or immediately follow- ing scheduled hours of work. Medical benefits: Employee pays 100% of premiums. Dental: Employee pays 100% of premiums. Paramedical: $1,000 per per- son per year for physiotherapy. LTD: Employer pays 95% of premiums, employee pays 5% of premiums (for employees hired before Oct. 1, 1993); em- ployee pays 100% of premiums (for employees hired after Oct. 1, 1993). Coverage of 70% of pre-disability earnings. Life insurance: Employee pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 2 times annual earnings. Pension: Yukon Hospital Pen- sion Plan. Bereavement leave: 7 days for death in immediate fam- ily (father, mother stepfather, stepmother, foster-parent, brother, sister, spouse, com- mon-law spouse, child, child of common-law spouse, stepchild, ward of employee, grandparent (including of spouse), grand- child, father-in-law, mother- in-law, son-in-law, daugh- ter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, any relative resid- ing in employee's household). 3 additional days when travel related to death is required. Seniority – recall rights: 1 year after layoff. Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours of pay at overtime rate. Probationary period: 980 straight-time hours worked, maximum of 1 year. Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years for any document or writ- ten statement related to disci- plinary action. Severance: 2 weeks' pay for first and 1 week's pay for each succeeding year of employ- ment, maximum 30 weeks on first layoff; 1 week's pay for each year of employment, less any other period employee was previously granted severance pay, on second or subsequent layoffs. One-half week's pay for each year of employment, maximum 28 weeks, less any previously granted severance pay, for employee who has 7 or more years of employment on resignation from employer (employees hired after March 16, 1998 are not entitled to sev- erance pay on resignation). Registration fees: Employer will reimburse employee for 100% of professional membership registration or licensing fees when registration or license is requirement for appointment to the position; when registration or license is condition of continued employment; when fees are paid to governing body outside Yukon because no equivalent governing body exists in Yukon (reimbursement limited to registration fees paid to 1 governing body only). Overtime travel allowance: Employee will be reimbursed for cost of taxi or at appropriate mileage rate for travel by private motor vehicle when, as direct result of being required to work overtime, employee's normal mode of transportation to and from work is not available.
