Two-thirds of business professionals say robots and
robotic systems don't play a major role in their industry,
but a similar proportion believe that the use of robots
will increase in their industry within the next two to
three years, according to a survey by TechRepublic.
The survey of 234 people across various business
sectors largely agreed that the manufacturing (75 per
cent) and logistics/delivery (69 per cent) industries
would be most likely to increase robot usage in the next
few years. The health-care and agricultural industries
were also seen as moving toward more automation,
with more than half of respondents forecasting a
greater presence of robots working.
Compared to other systems supported by IT, about
half of respondents (52 per cent) say that robotic
systems will require either slightly more or much more
time to support. Eight per cent say it will take roughly
the same amount of time, and 27 per cent say that it
will take less time to support.
An economic environment where more employees
are working remotely and organizations have been
thrown into disarray has paved the way for more
cybersecurity breaches, according to a report released
by cybersecurity firm Skybox Security.
The mid-year update of Skybox's 2020 Vulnerability
and Threat Trends Report — the result of security
analysts examining data from security feeds and
sources as well as investigating sites on the dark web
— revealed that, in the first six months of 2020, new
cybersecurity vulnerabilities increased by 22 per cent
over the same period in 2019, setting a pace for a new

new ransomware samples and advanced existing
