COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS FREIGHT AND TRANSPORTATION Clarke Transport Calgary/Edmonton (30 dock workers) and Teamsters, Local 362 Renewal agreement: Effec- tive Jan. 1, 2020 to Dec. 31, 2023. Ratified on Nov. 21, 2019. Signed on May 19, 2020. Shift premium: $1 per hour for all shifts beginning between 1:59 p.m. and 4:59 a.m. $1.25 per hour for lead-hands. Paid holidays: 10 days. Vacations with pay: 1 day per month, maximum 10 days, to start, 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 3 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 9 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 15 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 25 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day; double time after 2 hours of overtime. No employee will be required to work overtime in excess of 4 hours per week. Overtime earned may be banked, maximum 80 hours per year. May be taken as time off in lieu. Any accumulated banked overtime from prior year not taken by Dec. 31 of fol- lowing year will be paid out to employee. . Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for Prairie Teamsters Health and Welfare Plan. Pension: Employer will con- tribute $3.25 per hour (previ- ously $3 per hour) for all full- time employees into Prairie Teamsters Pension Plan. Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse, adult interdependent partner, common-law partner, children (and partner/spouse), current or former foster- children (and partner/spouse), current or former wards, parents, stepparents, cur- rent or former guardians (and partner/spouse), current or former foster-parents, siblings, half-siblings, stepsiblings (and partner/spouse), grandchil- dren, stepgrandchildren (and partner/spouse), grandpar- ents, stepgrandparents, aunts, uncles, stepaunts, stepuncles (and partner/spouse), nieces, nephews (and partner/spouse), person employee isn't related to but considers to be like close relative). 1 additional day for travel greater than 600 miles round-trip. Seniority – recall rights: 12 months for layoffs; additional 12 months when layoff is direct result of labour dispute involv- ing another company or when employee has accrued 5 years or more of seniority. 90 calen- dar days when employee re- ceives leave of absence to take position within company that is beyond sphere of bargaining unit. Probationary period: 90 cal- endar days. Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for written reprimands or warning letters. Safety shoes: $175 per year (previously $150 per year) for CSA-approved safety boots (any excess may be used to purchase gloves, coveralls, any other personal work gear). May be carried over for maximum 2 years. Uniforms/clothing: Employee physically handling fish, meat, frozen butter, hides, creosoted commodities, spun glass, lamp black, barbed wire, acids, dirty oil drums, ore concentrates, will be provided with gloves, rubber or leather aprons, cov- eralls or smocks. Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 9% increase): Full-time dock personnel: $23.55 rising 4 steps to $25.65 Part-time dock personnel: $19.80 rising 4 steps to $21.90 Editor's notes: Physical examinations: If employer requires that job applicants have physical examination prior to hiring, examination will be made by doctor chosen by employer and cost of examination will be borne by employer. FOOD CATERING/FACILITIES MANAGEMENT Sodexo Canada Cornwall, Ont. (191 facilities and food services employees) and the United Food and Commercial Workers Canada, Local 175 Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2018 to April 30, 2021. Ratified in January 2019. Signed on April 11, 2019. Wage adjustments: Effective Jan. 29, 2019: 1.5% Effective May 1, 2019: 1.5% Effective May 1, 2020: 2% Shift premium: $1 per hour for each hour worked between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. $0.75 per hour premium for all hours worked training (excluding team leads, room inspectors). Paid holidays: 10 days. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks to start, 3 weeks after 6 years, 4 weeks after 11 years, 5 weeks after 23 years, 6 weeks after 30 years Overtime: Time and one-half for work performed in excess of 40 hours per week and all work performed on statutory holidays. Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for Division 50 benefit plan. Sick leave: 2 days per year. If both days are not used, em- ployer will pay employee $100 at end of each year. Pension: All employees eli- gible to participate in RRSP plan in which employees are required to make contribu- tions equal to employers maximum 1% of employee's salary. Bereavement leave: 5 paid working days for death of spouse, child, parent, step- parent, guardian, grandchild, sibling. 3 paid working days for death of parent-in-law, sibling-in-law, child-in-law, grandparent. 1 paid working day for death of uncle, aunt, niece, nephew. Additional time off may be granted if travel is required to attend fu- neral. 1 day can be deferred if interment is postponed. Seniority – recall rights: Pe- riod equivalent to employee's seniority up to 12 months. Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours' pay if scheduled day of work is cancelled within 48 hours before start time, if em- ployee reports for work, or if employee is called into work. Probationary period: 60 days worked. Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months, except for major misconduct. Safety shoes: $125 per year for steel-toed safety footwear to movers, receivers, porters, maintenance employees. $60 per year for all other employ- ees for anti-slip footwear. Uniforms/clothing: Em- ployer supplies uniforms as negotiated. Employer supplies appropriate outerwear for working outside in inclement weather.
