Sample rates of hourly pay (current): Journeyman: $35.03 Apprentices/one license me- chanics: First-year apprentice: 50% of journeyman's wage Second-year apprentice: 60% of journeyman's wage Third-year apprentice: 70% of journeyman's wage Fourth-year apprentice: 80% of journeyman's wage Fifth-year apprentice: 90% of journeyman's wage One licence (S or T): 95% of journeyman's wage Both truck and transport and automotive licences: 100% of journeyman's wage (All employees must success- fully complete ASE brake re- quirement within first year of collective agreement and will receive $0.10 increase to hourly rate). Editor's notes: Apprenticeship training: Employer will pay for school tuition only upon successful completion of appren- ticeship course (yearly). Prescription safety glasses: Employees who are required to wear safety glasses are eligible to be re- imbursed $150 for 1 pair of safety glasses (must be CSA-approved, industrial glasses with side shields) that are required because of new prescription, change in prescription or damage to lenses. School bus master certification: $0.10 per hour for each of bonus tests passed (S1 through to S7). $0.10 per hour additional bonus for master certification. RETAIL GROCERY Heritage FreshCo Edmonton (79 grocery store employees) and the United Food and Commercial Workers Canada (UFCW), Local 401 Renewal agreement: Effec- tive March 18, 2021 to March 17, 2025. Ratified on March 9, 2021. Signed on March 9, 2021. Shift premium: $0.75 per hour for employees designated as night crew (scheduled be- tween 8 p.m. and 9 a.m.). Ad- ditional $0.75 per hour for em- ployee designated by employer to lead night crew. $0.75 per hour for all hours worked from 11 p.m. onward for any non-night crew employee who works beyond 11 p.m. (premi- um does not apply to employ- ees who begin work shift from 5 a.m. and onward next day). $1 per hour where employee is assigned to perform majority of duties of position not set out in collective agreement. $1.50 per hour (or $1.25 per hour depending on reasons worked) for all hours worked after 32 hours per week (for part-time employees). Paid holidays: 9 days. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 5 years, 4 weeks after 10 years, Overtime: Time and one-half for work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Sick leave: 3 days per year, ac- cumulated on basis of one-half day every 2 months. Bereavement leave: Maxi- mum 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse, parent, parent-in-law, child, brother, sister, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandpar- ents, common-law spouse, stepparents, stepchild, grand- child). 1 day for death of aunt, uncle. Seniority – recall rights: 18 months for employee promot- ed to non-union management position subsequent to con- version; 6 months or length of seniority, whichever is less, for layoffs. Probationary period: 350 hours of active regular duty. Severance: 1 week's pay after 13 weeks of service; 2 weeks' pay after 2 years of service; 4 weeks' pay after 4 years of ser- vice; 5 weeks' pay after 6 years of service; 6 weeks' pay after 8 years of service; 8 weeks' pay after 10 years of service. Enhanced severance: 1.5 times normal weekly earnings, mul- tiplied by completed years of service, maximum $50,000, for full-time employee; $15,000 for part-time employees, after permanent discontinuance of operations of store. Safety shoes: $30 reimburse- ment for all part-time employ- ees (minimum of 2 years of service) that are required to purchase safety footwear. Full- time employees will be entitled to $30 reimbursement twice during collective agreement. Shoes must be entirely black in colour and must be CSA- approved. Uniforms/clothing: When employer requires employee to wear uniform shirt, employer will supply new hires 1 shirt at time of hire. Every September all employees who are required to wear uniform will receive 1 additional shirt as long as employee remains actively em- ployed. Employer will maintain employee-shared supply of clean, cold-temperature ap- parel: coats, gloves, hats. Sample rates of hourly pay (current): Full-time employees Start: $15 6 months: $15.10 12 months: $15.20 18 months: $15.30 24 months: $15.40 30 months: $16 36 months: $16.50 42 months: $17.50 48 months: $18 Part-time employees 0 to 300 hours: minimum wage (MW) 301 to 650 hours: $MW + $0.05 651 to 1,300 hours: $MW + $0.10 1,301 to 1,950 hours: $MW + $0.15 1,951 to 2,600 hours: $MW + $0.20 2,601 to 3,250 hours: $MW + $0.25 3,251 to 3,900 hours: $MW + $0.35 3,901 to 4,500 hours: $MW + $0.40 4,501 to 5,200 hours: $MW + $0.50 5,201 to 6,500 hours: $MW + $0.60 More than 6,501 hours: $MW + $0.70 Editor's notes: Training/committee pay: All time spent in employer-approved training and participating in duties and func- tions of joint work-site health committee during scheduled shift will be paid as if employee had been working regular duties. First-aid training: Employees' first aid training courses will be paid for by employer and scheduled on paid workday. Train- ing fund: Employer will contribute $0.06 per hour for every hour worked to United Food and Commercial Workers, Local 401 Health, Safety, Education and Training Fund. Employer contributions will increase by $0.01 per hour each year there- after on last Sunday of year until expiry date of collective agreement or total contribution reaches maximum $0.14 per hour.
