COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS AMBULANCE SERVICES Associated Ambulance & Services (Whitecourt) Breton/Drayton Valley/Lac La Biche/Smoky Lake/Sylvan Lake/orhild/Vilna/Mayerthorpe/Westlock, Alta. (189 paramedics) and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), Local 4351 Renewal agreement: Effec- tive April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022. Signed on June 14, 2021. Shift premium: Double time when employee is asked to work extra shifts or extra hours with less than 24 hours' notice. $2 per hour when employee temporarily acts in capacity of operations supervisor. $3 per hour for all weekend hours worked, maximum 20 hours per weekend for employees working 1,825 hours per year; $3 per hour for all weekend hours worked, maximum 24 hours per weekend for employ- ees working 2,190 hours per year. Paid holidays: 11 days plus 1 floater day (floater day will be paid out if not used by Dec. 31). Vacations with pay: 10 shifts or 100 hours after 1 year, 12 shifts or 120 hours after 3 years, 15 shifts or 150 hours after 5 years, 18 shifts or 180 hours after 7 years, 20 shifts or 200 hours after 10 years for employees who work 1,825 hours per year. 10 shifts or 120 hours after 1 year, 12 shifts or 144 hours after 3 years, 15 shifts or 180 hours after 5 years, 18 shifts or 216 hours after 7 years, 20 shifts or 240 hours after 10 years for em- ployees who work 2,190 hours per year. Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for Alberta Health Care Plan. Employer will allocate $1,825 for every regular full-time employee will be allocated by employer to taxable spending account (unused allocation as of Dec. 31 of each year will be carried forward for 1 calendar year). Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Sick leave: 10 hours for each month of employment, maxi- mum credit of 120 hours for employees working schedule of 1,825 hours per year or 12 hours for each full of employ- ment, maximum credit of 144 hours for employees working schedule of 2,190 hours per year. STD: Employee pays 100% of premiums. LTD: Employee pays 100% of premiums. AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Pension: Employer will match employees contributions to group RRSP/DPSP plan: 2% after 6 months of service; 3% after 5 years; 4% after 8 years. Employees may contribute more to plans that won't be matched by employer. Bereavement leave: 1 tour for death in family (stepparent, stepchildren, stepbrother, step- sister, son-in-law, daughter- in-law, brother-in-law, sister- in-law, niece, nephew, legal guardian). Employer may allow time off, without pay, to attend funeral service when death of relative or friend who is not im- mediate family. Seniority – recall rights: 1 year after layoffs. Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours' or all actual hours worked, whichever is greater. Probationary period: 6 months of regular hours of work (probationary period will be automatically extended for any leaves of absence in excess of 30 days). Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months for past notices of discipline. Severance: 1 week's pay for each year of service, maximum 20 weeks' pay. Safety shoes: $150 per year for boots that meet requirements under Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Code, or oth- er criteria as may be prescribed by employer. Uniforms/clothing: Uniform issue will be: 4 shirts; 3 pairs of uniform pants; 1 high-visibil- ity jacket; crests or epaulettes as required; safety glasses for full-time staff. Minimum of: 2 shirts; 2 pairs of uniform pants; safety glasses for casual staff. Mileage: $0.52 per kilometre when employee drives motor vehicle — other than motor vehicle supplied by employer — outside of service area to attend meetings or other employer business. When called back to duty while on call, on-call premium will cease and employee is paid call-in pay. Court time: When employee — as result of duties — is summoned or subpoenaed as witness or defendant to appear in court or other legal proceedings (excluding labour arbitration) during regular hours of work, employee will not suffer loss of pay. When employee is required to appear as witness or defendant dur- ing days off, employee will be paid at regular hourly rate for hours of attendance, minimum 2 hours. Duty expenses: Employee who is tasked to event which takes employee away from will receive meal allowance: 1 meal of $10 for 5 hours; 2 meals of $20 for 6 hours; 3 meals of $30 for 10 hours or greater (daily maximum: $30). Long-service increments: After 15 completed years of service, employees will receive $1 per hour for each additional year of service (for employees who work 1,825 hours per year).
