COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS SECURITY SCREENING Garda Security Screening Calgary (470 security guards) and the Logistics, Manufacturing, and Allied Trades Union, CLAC, Local 56 Renewal agreement: Effec- tive Sept. 13, 2019 to March 31, 2022. Signed on Oct. 10, 2019. Shift premium: 12.5% above level 3.4 rate for training spe- cialist. Paid holidays: 11 days. Vacations with pay: 1 day per month, maximum 2 weeks, to start, 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 4 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 7 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 12 years. Employees who have vacation entitlement of more than 2 weeks or 4% will have option of rolling over maximum of 1 week or 2% to following years' allotment. Overtime: Time and one-half for work on first day off; double time for work on second and third consecutive days off. Meal allowance: $15 meal credit for employee working 3 hours of overtime beyond regu- lar shift. Medical benefits: Employer will pay maximum $250 per employee per month (previ- ously $315 per employee per month) for union-sponsored benefits. Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums for Alberta health and wellness coverage. Sick leave: 2.8% of employee's regular hours worked. STD: Employee pays 100% of premiums. LTD: Employee pays 100% of premiums. AD&D: Employee pays 100% of premiums. Pension: CLAC Pension Plan. Effective March 28, 2021, em- ployer will contribute $1.20 per hour (previously $1.15 per hour) for each hour worked for all employees who have at- tained level 3 CATSA certifica- tion. Bereavement leave: 4 days for death in immediate fam- ily (mother, father, mother's spouse or common-law partner, father's spouse or common-law partner, spouse, common-law partner, chil- dren, children of employee's spouse or common-law part- ner, sister, brother, spouse's or common-law partner's mother or her spouse or com- mon-law partner, spouse's or common-law partner's father or his spouse or common- law partner, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, stepchildren, stepparents, grandchildren, grandparents, any relative of employee who resides with employee). Employee may receive additional leave-of- absence of 7 consecutive calendar days, without pay, to attend funeral if funeral oc- curs outside of 700-kilometre radius of employee's normal work location. 4 consecutive calendar days' leave, without pay, for death of family mem- ber not covered. Seniority – recall rights: 180 calendar days for employee promoted to position outside bargaining unit. Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours of pay at applicable overtime rate (to qualify, employee must have minimum 1-hour break between end of original shift and beginning of call-in shift). Minimum 4 hours of pay at applicable overtime rate of pay when employee is called in to work on days off. Probationary period: 75 calendar days (period will be extended by equivalent num- ber of calendar days of any absence by employee). 120 calendar days for new team leaders and new training spe- cialist leaders. Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for any disciplin- ary record. Safety shoes: Employer will reimburse employee maxi- mum $100 for appropriate shoes; $100 for appropriate size safety boots if required by employee's position. Uniforms/clothing: All uniforms, when supplied by employer, will be without cost to employee. Employees will be permitted to wear own clothing: boots must be black and polishable; gloves must be either solid navy blue or solid black in colour; toques must be either solid navy blue or solid black in colour. Apparel, personal protective equipment will be provided by employer. Employer will pay employees $15 cleaning allowance for every 4 weeks of work by em- ployee. Sample rates of hourly pay (current): Screening officer Level 3.1: $23.40 Level 3.2: $25.20 Level 3.3: $26.35 Level 3.4: $24.20 Level 1: $20.47 Level 2: $21.67 TS premium rate: $29.64 Editor's notes: Paternity leave: Employee whose partner has given birth will be granted 2 consecutive scheduled days of paid leave at time of birth of child or when child is brought home (employee will be given additional 3 days' leave without pay to be taken in conjunction with foregoing). Marriage leave: Employer will give maximum 5 consecutive unpaid calendar days off for employee to attend own wedding. Parking allowance: Employer will pay 100% of cost of staff parking for employ- ees at Calgary International Airport hired on or prior to Nov. 4, 2015. For employees hired after Nov. 4, 2015, employer will pay 50% of cost of staff parking. HEALTH CARE Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance Stratford, Ont. (345 nurses) and the Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA) Renewal agreement: Effective June 8, 2021 to March 31, 2023. Ratified in September 2021. Signed on Sept. 9, 2021. Wage adjustments: Effective April 1, 2022: 1% Shift premium: $2.25 per hour for each hour worked within hours defined as evening shift; $2.88 per hour for each hour worked within hours defined as night shift, provided that such hours exceed 2 hours if worked in conjunction with day shift. $2.80 per hour for each hour worked between midnight Friday and midnight Sunday (increases to $3.04 on April 1, 2022). $0.60 per hour for all hours supervising students.
