Vacations with pay: An employee is entitled to 4% of their base rate as vacation pay. Overtime: Time and one-half. Medical benefits: The employer contributes $120,000 each Sep- tember towards employee health care benefits. This contribution is administered by the union. The union provides an annual report summarizing the allocations of the employer's contribu- tions. Sick leave: 6 hours per academic term. Bereavement leave: 5 days for the death of an employee's par- ent, spouse, partner or child. Probationary period: 1 academic term. Court leave: Employees will be granted leave with pay when summoned to serve for jury duty or jury selection or when subpoenaed as a witness to court proceedings to which the employee is not a party. Bereavement leave: 4 days for employee's spouse (including common-law), parent, spouse of the father or mother (including common-law), children, brother, sister, father-in-law (including common-law), mother-in-law (including common-law) or any relative living permanently with the employee. 1 day for em- ployee's grandparent, grandchild, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law or sister-in-law.
