UNPAID INTERNSHIPS
This recent survey asked HRPA members how they feel
about unpaid internships—are they a valuable learning
opportunity or exploitation? While half believed there's
value in internships (work experience, networks, skills
development), almost two-thirds felt internships not
tied to education/training should be illegal.
EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT
HRPA asked its members if the Employee Engagement
metric is still relevant and valuable today. The survey also
explored what engagement means to Millennial workers,
and whether that meaning has changed from what it used
to be. Two results were clear: employee engagement
continues to be a valuable HR metric, and it means
something very different to Generation Y.
