Vacations with pay: 2 weeks (pro-rated) to start, 3 weeks after 1 year, 4 weeks after 10 years, 5 weeks after 18 years and 6 weeks after 30 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for all time worked in addition to 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Meal allowance: Meal al- lowance provided after 11 consecutive hours. Breakfast allowance approved for extra- curricular trips that start prior to 6:30 a.m., lunch allowance approved for out-of-county extra-curricular trips that take place during lunch and dinner allowance approved for out-of- county extra-curricular trips that extend beyond 6 p.m. Sick leave: 12 hours sick leave credit per 160 regular hours paid, to a maximum 1,560 hours. Bereavement leave: 5 days for employee's spouse (including common-law spouse), parent (including legal guardian or person responsible for raising the employee), step-parent, child, step-child, mother-in- law, father-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother, sister, grandparent, grandchild, step- grandchild and foster children living in the same household. 1 day for employee's aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, brother-in-law or sister-in-law. Additional 2 days when ceremony takes place outside the province or when the employee is required to travel a significant distance within the province. Seniority โ€“ recall rights: 2 years. Call-in pay: 3 hours at over- time rate or all hours worked at time and one-half, whichever is greater. Probationary period: 640 working hours or 80 worked shifts, whichever comes first. Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years. Uniforms/clothing: The em- ployer provides all mechanics with appropriate clean cover- alls. Sample rates of pay (current, after 3% increase): Custodian: $18.06 per hour General Maintenance: $20.45 General Labourer: $15.45 Building Technician: $21.41 Tradesperson: $24.87 Building Specialist: $23.45 Bus Driver: $22.52 Mechanic: $24.87 Head Mechanic: $25.75 Motor Vehicle Body Repairer: $24.87 Head Motor Vehicle Body Re- pairer: $24.95 Inventory Clerk: $20.72 Editor's notes: Accidents: Failure to report an accident involving an employer owned/leased vehicle is subject to disciplinary action. Parking: The employer will designate the location where a school bus is parked overnight. For drivers who park at home, pick-up shift will start 15 minutes prior to first student pick-up to allow for pre-trip inspection. Maintenance: 30 minutes of each regular shift will be dedicated to safety checks, fueling, minor repairs and adjustments and interior/exterior cleaning. At the employer's discretion an additional 30 minutes per full work week will be dedicated to extra cleaning, waxing and other maintenance duties. Wellness initiative: The board provides $10,000 for the use of members to purchase memberships in health and recreation clubs. MUNICIPALITY Hamlet of Arctic Bay Hamlet Bay, Nunavut (26 inside and outside employees) and the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) and the Nunavut Employees Union Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2014, to Dec. 31, 2016. Signed on Feb. 28, 2014. Wage adjustments: Effective Jan. 1, 2015: 1.5% Effective Jan. 1, 2016: 1.5% Paid holidays: 13 days, plus 1 half day on work day immedi- ately preceding Christmas Day and 1 half day on the workday immediately preceding New Year's Day. Double time for all hours worked on a named holiday. Vacations with pay: 3 weeks to start, 4 weeks after 2 years, 5 weeks after 10 years, 6 weeks after 20 years. Credits may be carried over, up to the en- titlement of that year. After 9 months of service, employees entitled to apply for Vacation Travel Assistance as follows: $2,000 for employee, $600 for spouse, $400 for each depen- dent child. Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked in excess of 37.5 per week for adminis- trative employees, 40 per week for public works, bylaw officers and recreation employees and 27.5 hours per week for aborig- inal head start employees. Time off may be taken in lieu of pay. Meal allowance: For employ- ees travelling for business: $21.30 for breakfast, $31.35 for lunch, $69.80 for dinner, $17.30 for incidentals, effective Oct. 1, 2013. $139.75 per diem. Pension: Employees may con- tribute up to 10% of regular earnings. Severance: Available after 5 years of service for employees resigning or retiring and after 3 years of service for laid-off employees. One-half the num- ber of years of service times his weekly rate of pay, up to 12 weeks. May be waived and granted an equivalent period of leave with pay in lieu. Uniforms/clothing: Employer provides outer work clothing, safety footwear, gloves, shirts and pants. For Public Works employees: 1 pair of summer and 1 pair of winter safety boots, 1 pair summer coveralls, 1 pair winter coveralls, 1 pair bib-overalls, 1 jacket โ€“ to be re- placed annually. 1 pair summer work gloves, 1 pair winter work gloves. For Janitors: 2 pairs of scrubs, to be replaced annually. For Recreation employees: in- sulated rubber work gloves for cold weather, 1 pair of summer and 1 pair of winter safety foot- wear. For Bylaw officers: 1 law enforcement uniform, 1 winter jacket, 1 summer jacket, 1 pair of slash-proof gloves, 1 pair of combat boots, identifying headgear, 1 bullet-proof vest.
