Both countries are predicting a three per cent salary increase next year — the lowest increase in the Americas. The highest increase is forecast in Argentina, with a 28 per cent pay raise. 80% are only proud of their work if it gets praise (compared to 8% of non- perfectionists). 84% would rather work on their own than as part of a group to make sure a project is done "right" (compared to 11% of non-perfectionists). 72% believe that if even one mistake is found in their work, they will be considered incompetent (compared to 1% of non-perfectionists). 92% assume their boss expects them to succeed on every task, leaving them no room to fail (compared to 24% of non-perfectionists). He probably is — 66 per cent of employees who are perfectionists are likely to miss deadlines if they don't feel a project is "good enough." And absenteeism could be an issue too — about one-third or 31 per cent have consulted a health-care professional about stress, according to a Canadian-based study of 406 workers.
