Employees cannot carry over more vacation leave credits than can be earned in 1 year, any remaining days will be paid out. overtime: Time and one-half for first 4 hours of overtime, double time for all hours worked after that. Bereavement leave: 5 days for the death of an immediate fam- ily member, which is defined as father, mother, brother, sister, spouse, common-law spouse, child, stepchild, adopted child, foster child, grandpar- ent, grandchild, father-in-law, mother-in-law and any relative permanently residing in the employee's household. Seniority — recall rights: 1 year. Call-in pay: Compensation at the appropriate overtime rate or the equivalent of 4 hours' pay at straight-time rates — which- ever is greater. Severance: 2 weeks' pay for the 1st year of service, 2 weeks' pay for the 2nd year of service, and 1 week's pay for each succeed- ing year of service, up to a maxi- mum of 28 weeks' pay. Uniforms/clothing: $500 per year to purchase coveralls, gloves and headgear. Clothing allowance will be made avail- able for the following positions: journeyman carpenter, jour- neyman housing maintainer, apprentice housing maintainer, non-certified tradesperson, non-certified housing main- tainer, casual workers. Tool allowance: $200 per year for journeymen, $100 per year for first-year apprentices. Sample rates of pay, current: Administration clerk: $30.17 per hour, rising in 4 steps to $32.54 Maintenance clerk: $30.17, ris- ing in 4 steps to $32.54 Utilities clerk: $30.17, rising in 4 steps to $32.54 TRO clerk: $30.17, rising in 4 steps to $32.54 Tenant relations officer: $37.01, rising in 4 steps to $39.93 Journeyman housing main- tainer: $35.29, rising in 4 steps to $38.07 Non-certified trades worker: $33.55, rising in 4 steps to $36.19 editor's notes: Marriage leave: 5 paid days for the employee's marriage. Compassionate care leave: 5 paid days when an immediate family member becomes seriously ill. Up to 8 weeks unpaid when an immediate family member be- comes critically ill. Childbirth: Up to 2 days for the birth or adoption of a child. Reporting pay: Minimum 4 hours' pay when an employee shows up for work as scheduled but there is none available.
