Up to 15 days may be deferred per year, provided the employee has earned at least 4 weeks of vaca- tion entitlement. During the 16th year of service, librarians will be entitled to long service leave of 6 days in addition to annual vacation. overtime: Time and one- half for first 2 hours worked in excess of 37.5 per week for librarians, 35 hours per week for clerical and secretarial staff, 40 hours per week for janito- rial employees. Double time for all hours worked after that. Time and one-half for all hours worked on a Sunday. Hours worked on a Sunday as follows: up to 5 hours for building ser- vice duties, up to 4.5 hours for computer operation and branch opening duties, up to 4 hours for all other employees. Meal allowance: One half-hour paid meal period after the first 2 hours of overtime worked. An- other half-hour meal period 3.5 hours of overtime after that. Medical benefits: 80% cover- age after $100 deductible per family per year. Lifetime maxi- mum of $1 million. $1,000 every 5 years for hearing aids. $350 lifetime maximum for nicotine patch. Up to $1,250 per year for both physiotherapist and regis- tered massage therapy. Dental: 90% coverage for di- agnosis, prevention, surgery, restorations, denture repairs, endodontics and gum treat- ment. 60% coverage for crowns, bridges and partial or complete dentures. 50% coverage for or- thodontics, up to $4,000, $4,250 effective Jan. 1, 2013, $4,500 ef- fective Jan. 1, 2015, per person per lifetime. Vision: Up to $100 per person every 2 years for eye exams. Up to $400 per person every 2 years, $425 effective Jan. 1, 2013, $450 effective Jan. 1, 2015. $500 per eye lifetime maximum for laser eye surgery. LtD: 67% of earnings up to $4,500 per month effective Jan. 1, 2013. Life insurance: Double regu- lar gross earnings, minimum $50,000. Bereavement leave: 3 days for the death of an employee's spouse (including common- law and same-sex), child, ward, brother, sister, parent, stepchild, stepbrother, stepsister, step- parent, parent-in-law, brother- in-law, sister-in-law, grand- child, grandparent, guardian, or any other relative living with the employee. Up to 2 additional days if travel outside of British Columbia's Lower Mainland is required. Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours' pay at double time, including 1 hour's pay at double time for travelling. 1 hour's pay at nor- mal rate for each 8-hour period an employee is required to be on standby.
