Temporary crew leader: $3 per hour, up from $1.80. First aid level I: 75¢ per hour, up from 50¢. First aid level II: $1.25 per hour, up from $1. Fuel tank entry: $3 per hour, up from $2.50. Paid holidays: 11 days, Family Day included as of ratification. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 3 years, 4 weeks after 10 years (previously 8 years), 5 weeks after 20 years (previously 15), 6 weeks after 23 years. Pension: Effective upon ratification: Matching contributions of 3% of salary becoming 4% (previously 6%) for employees with 15 years of service (previously 10). Employees already receiving matching contributions in excess of the amounts will be grandfathered into retirement. Severance: 1 week's pay for each year of service. Safety shoes: $150 per year, previously $100. May be carried over up to 36 months, provided maximum benefit of $300. Sample rates of pay, current: Cleaner: $14.34 per hour, rising after 3 years to $18.09 Painter: $26.22, rising after 3 years to $28.90 Machinist I: $26.74, rising after 2 years to $29.29 Engineer: $27.23, rising after 7 years to $31.74 Crew lead: $37.94, rising after 3 years to $40.95 editor's notes: Cost of living allowance: Amount equal to 1¢ per 0.07 point increase of the Consumer Price Index (2002=100) over 12 quarterly calculations. First calculation, in April 2014, compares CPI average for December 2013 to February 2014 period with that of previous quarter — last adjustment occurs in January 2018. Any amount gener- ated will be folded into wages on a quarterly basis. SOCIAL SERVICES Many rivers Counselling and Support Services whitehorse (17 health and social care professional employees) and the Yukon Employees' Union, affiliated with the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2014, to March 31, 2017. Signed on Sept. 16, 2014. Wage adjustments: Effective April 1, 2014: 1.5% Effective April 1, 2015: 1.6% Effective April 1, 2016: 1.75% Paid holidays: 12 days. Time and one-half for all hours worked on a named holiday. In lieu of compensation, employees may take time off accordingly. Vacations with pay: 4 weeks to start, 5 weeks after 5 years, 6 weeks after 10 years. At supervisor's discretion, an employee can carry over no more than 5 days of vacation, but must use such leave by the end of the first quarter of the following fiscal year. Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked in excess of 7.5 per day. Employees may take time off in lieu of pay. Medical benefits: Group benefit plan. Regular employees who do not qualify will be paid $250 in lieu of benefits. Sick leave: 2 days earned per month, up to 120 days. Pension: After 1 year of service, employees may contribute up to 3% of earnings to pension plan, which employer will match, up to 3%. Probationary period: 6 months. Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years. Sample rates of pay, current: Administrative assistant: $43,600 per year, rising after 5 years to $50,067 Office manager: $55,607, rising after 5 years to $64,109 Counsellor (bachelor's degree): $61,387, rising after 5 years to $70,871 Counsellor (master's or doctorate degree): $64,669, rising after 5 years to $74,714 Office co-ordinator: $53,242, rising after 5 years to $61,346 Data entry: $41,093, rising after 5 years to $47,127 editor's notes: Prepaid leave plan: Purpose of a prepaid leave plan is to afford employees the opportunity to take a leave of absence for a period of up to 1 year and through deferral of their salary, finance and the leave. Leave will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis. Compassionate care: Leave of up to 8 weeks without pay to care for a family mem- ber at risk of dying within 26 weeks. Travel: Employees required to travel for work will be paid for actual travelling, up to 7.5 hours per day. Incidental allowance of $6 for overnights only. Up to $50 if staying in private accommodations or actual receipted hotel costs. Community living allowance: $1,100 and 1.5 travel days per quarter for employees living outside of Whitehorse in Haines Junction. $1,700 and 2 travel days per quarter for Watson Lake. $2,200 and 2 travel days per quarter for Dawson City. Travel bonus days will be forfeited if not used within designated year. Yukon bonus: After 2 years of service and on each subsequent anniversary date, employees shall receive $2,042. Social justice fund: $250 contributed by employer to the union per year. Relocation expenses: Up to $5,000 for new employees and may include airfare, gas, cost of shipping, accommodations. (220 carpenters) and the Carpenters and Joiners of America (UBC) Local 1386 Renewal agreement: Effective July 7, 2014, to June 30, 2016. Signed on July 7, 2014. Shift premium: $4 per hour for foremen. Paid holidays: 10 days. Vacations with pay: Vacation pay, in accordance with the New Brunswick Vacation Pay Act, is payable at 10%. Bereavement leave: 5 days for employee's spouse, child, father or mother. 2 days for employee's brother or sister. Uniforms/clothing: Raincoats, rubber boots, safety helmets and safety goggles are provided by the employer where necessary. Tool allowance: Power tools, patent mitre boxes and staplers are provided by the employer where necessary. Sample rates of pay, current: Carpenter: $22.63 per hour Interior system mechanic: $24.63
