(30 truck drivers) and Unifor Local 124Q Renewal agreement: Effec- tive Jan. 1, 2014, to Dec. 31, 2018. Signed on June 5, 2015. Wage adjustments: Effective Jan. 1, 2014: 0.5% Effective Jan. 1, 2015: 1.5% Effective Jan. 1, 2016: 2% Effective Jan. 1, 2017: 2% Effective Jan. 1, 2018: 2.75% Paid holidays: 10 days. 2 ad- ditional days for employees hired before Nov. 4, 1997. Vacations with pay: 1/2 day per month worked to a max- imum of 10 days to start, 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 5 years, 4 weeks after 10 years and 5 weeks after 19 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked beyond 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Time and one-half for all hours worked on a holiday. Life insurance: Employer pays 50% of premiums. Bereavement leave: 5 days for employee's spouse, child, spouse's child, father or mother. 3 days for employee's brother, sister, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law or sister-in-law. 2 days for em- ployee's son-in-law or daugh- ter-in-law. 1 day for employee's grandparent. 1 additional day if the employee travels more than 200 km for the funeral. Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours at time and one-half. Discipline: Sunset clause is 1 year. Uniforms/clothing: The employer provides 3 pairs of pants, 4 shirts, 1 summer jacket and 1 winter coat every 2 years. Sample rates of pay (current, after 1.5% increase): Drivers: $20.53 per hour Mechanics: $20.85 Mechanic apprentice: $19.66 Drivers paid by mileage: 44.8¢ per km Editor's notes: Medical examinations: All employees will be required to submit to any necessary medical examina- tions. The employer will pay all costs related to medical exams. Passengers: No passengers are permitted in employer vehicles unless with written authorization. This does not prohibit employees from helping drivers in distress. Those passengers should be dropped at the nearest point of communication and the event should be recorded in the em- ployee's vehicle log. Accidents: Employees will not be held responsible for accidents unless negligence is established. Loss or damage: Employees will not be held responsible for loss or damage of cargo unless negligence is established. Unpaid leave: Employees with more than 5 years' seniority are eligible to take up to 1 year of unpaid leave. No more than 1 driver and 1 salary department employee can take this leave at one time. Overnight trips: $41 when employees sleep in a bunk in their vehicle. Birth: 3 paid days. Marriage: 5 unpaid days. Wage adjustments: Effective April 1, 2014: 1.5% Effective April 1, 2015: 0.75% Effective April 1, 2016: 0.75% Shift premium: $2.25 per hour for all hours worked be- tween 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. $2.25 per hour for all hours worked on Saturday or Sunday. Paid holidays: 12 days. Vacations with pay: 1 2/3 days per month to start, 2 1/12 days per month after 15 years, 2 1/2 days per month after 28 years. Sick leave: 1 1/2 days per calendar month worked to a maximum of 9 days per year. Employees must provide evi- dence certified by a qualified medical practitioner of their inability to perform for any period of absence in excess of 3 days. Bereavement leave: 5 days for employee's father, mother, stepfather, stepmother, foster parent, grandparent, brother, sister, spouse, common-law spouse, child, stepchild, ward of the employee, grandchild, father-in-law, mother-in-law or any relative living perma- nently with the employee. 1 day for employee's grand- parent-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in- law or sister-in-law. Up to 2 additional paid days for the purpose of travel. Seniority – recall rights: 1 year. Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours at time and one-half. Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years. Severance: 1/2 week's pay per complete year of service to a maximum of 13 weeks' pay for resignation. 1 week's pay per complete year of service to a maximum of 30 weeks' pay for retirement. 1 week's pay per complete year of service to a maximum of 30 weeks' pay in the event of an employee's death. 1 week's pay per com- plete year of severance to a maximum of 28 weeks' pay for termination for incapacity or incompetence.
