5 Canadian HR Reporter, a Thomson Reuters business 2016 CANADIAN LABOUR REPORTER COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS Editor's notes: Leave of absence: Employees on a personal leave of absence will continue to accumulate seniority for a maximum of 1 month. WHMIS: All employees will receive WHMIS training and fire training on paid time. Name tags: Company-issued name tags must be worn by employees at all times. A maximum of 2 replacement tags will be provided per calendar year, thereafter employees will be charged $7 for lost of willfully damaged name tags. Pins: Em- ployees are permitted to wear "Workers United" union pins. The current pin supplied by the union is acceptable. Any further type or style of pin introduced by the union must be approved by the employer. Remembrance Day: Employ- ees can wear a Remembrance Day poppy the week of Nov. 11 each year. Security: Bags, knapsacks, lunch boxes and parcels are subject to search by hotel security. All searches will be done on paid time. Food and beverage walkouts: The employer will not demand repayment in the case of legitimate walkouts. Employees must report such incidents to management as soon as possible. TRANSPORTATION Bearskin Lake Air Service Sioux Lookout, Ont. (5 passenger agents) and the United Food and Commercial Workers Canada Union (UFCW) Local 175 Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2015, to April 30, 2018. Signed on May 1, 2015. Wage adjustments: Effective May 1, 2016: 1.5% Effective May 1, 2017: 1.5% Calculated by CLR. Shift premium: 75¢ per hour for all time worked between 11:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. $1 per hour for lead hands. 50¢ per hour for employees acting as training agents. Paid holidays: 9 days. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 5 years, 4 weeks after 10 years and 5 weeks after 15 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked beyond 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Meal allowance: $11.65 for breakfast, $13.30 for lunch and $21.10 for dinner when an em- ployees is required to be away from their home base while on authorized employer business. Sick leave: 4 days for full-time employees. 2 days for part-time employees. Pension: Employees will be eligible to join the Defined Contribution Plan after 2 years of continuous service. Eligible employees will contribute an amount equal to 3% of their earning excluding overtime and bonuses. The employer will contribute an amount equal to 3% of employees' earning ex- cluding overtime and bonuses. Rising to 4% for full-time em- ployees with more than 10 years of continuous service. Bereavement leave: 3 days for employee's spouse, child, spouse's child, parent, parent's spouse, sibling, father-in-law, mother-in-law, grandparent or grandchild. Seniority – recall rights: 1 year for full-time employees. 6 months for part-time employ- ees. Probationary period: 6 months or 754 hours worked, whichever is greater. Uniforms/clothing: Employer provides 4 shirts and 2 pairs of pants per year for full-time employees. 2 shirts and 1 pair of pants will be provided to part- time employees. Sample rates of pay, current: Passenger agents: $12.75 per hour rising in 6 steps to $18.18 Editor's notes: Maternity leave: Maternity and child care leave will be granted in accordance with the Canada La- bour Code. Allowance: Employees working at the Sioux Lookout base will receive a Northern Allowance of $135 per month payable on the second pay period of each month. $150 effective May 1, 2016. CONSTRUCTION Dependable Mechanical Concord, Ont. (3 employees) and the Christian Labour Association of Canada (CLAC), Construction Workers Local 52 Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2015, to June 30, 2018. Ratified on July 7, 2015. Shift premium: $2 per hour for all hours worked before 7 a.m. or after 7 p.m. Time and one- half plus $2 for all hours worked in a night shift after completing a regular 9-hour workday. $2 per hour for foremen perform- ing oversight on operations. $1 per hour for lead hands. Paid holidays: 10 days. Time and one-half for all hours worked on a named holiday. Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked in excess of 44 per week. Time and one-half for all hours worked in excess of 10 per day. Time and one-half for all hours worked on a Satur- day or Sunday. Pension: CLAC Pension Plan. No other details available. Call-in pay: Reporting pay: Minimum 4 hours' pay at straight time when an employee reports for work but is pre- vented from starting due to cir- cumstances beyond employee's control. Tool allowance: Electrician's tools provided: side cutters, lineman's pliers, needle nose pliers, wire strippers, slot screwdrivers, Robertson screw- drivers, Philips screwdrivers, tape measure, hack saw, straight claw hammer, voltage tester, tool belt, hand tap, dry wall saw, magnetic level, cordless drill, hard hat. Sample rates of pay, current (including pension, benefit and vacation pay): Journeyman: $38.48 per hour Editor's notes: Travel: $50 per day when staying overnight on a jobsite.
