Overtime: Double time for all hours worked in excess of the regularly scheduled hours. Meal allowance: Meal vouch- ers are provided to employees required to work 2 or more hours of overtime. Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of benefits for the Ontario Health Insurance Plan and the Clean Harbors Canada Group Benefit Plan. Pension: All employees with three months of continuous service are eligible to partici- pate in the company group reg- istered retirement savings plan. Bereavement leave: 5 days for employee's spouse or child. 3 days for employee's father, mother, brother, sister, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparent or stepparent. 1 day for employee's uncle, aunt, grandchild, or spouse's grand- parent. Seniority – recall rights: A period equal to the employee's seniority to start, 1 year for an employee with 1 year's senior- ity, 18 months for an employee with 5 years' seniority and 2 years for an employee with 10 years' seniority. Call-in pay: Actual hours worked at the applicable over- time rate of pay or 4 hours' reg- ular pay, whichever is greater. 5 hours at the regular rate of pay when employees are called in between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. Probationary period: 120 days. Severance: 48 hours of pay per year of service with a minimum of 80 hours. Uniforms/clothing: $300 per year for the purchase of personal protective gear. The employer provides coveralls, gloves, goggles, safety helmets and all other necessary safety equipment. Sample rates of pay, current: Crew leader: $38.14 per hour Lead operator: $37.21 Assistant operator: $33.55 Operator-trainee: $32.80 Maintenance A: $31.33 Maintenance B: $33.57 Maintenance C: $33.74 Helper: $30.94 Custodian: $19 rising in 3 steps to $22 General labour: $30.03 Analytical specialist: $36.57 Instrument specialist: $35.57 Lab technologist: $33.74 rising in 2 steps to $28.03 Editor's notes: Personal time: Employees are entitled to 36 hours of personal time per calendar year. Effective April 28, 2016, employees will be entitled to 40 hours of personal time per calendar year. TRANSPORTATION Ocean Choice International Riverport, N.S. (67 unlicensed employees) and Unifor Local 1944 Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2015, to April 30, 2018. Signed on May 1, 2015. Wage adjustments: Effective May 1, 2016: $4 Effective May 1, 2017: $4 Calculated by CLR. Shift premium: $10 per seaday for stewards. Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked beyond 8 hours per day for employees working in port. Double time for all hours worked in port on Sunday. Medical benefits: Employer pays 80% of major medical expenses subject to policy limi- tations. Employer pays 80% of direct drug expenses. Vision: Employer pays 80% of premiums to a maximum of $120 every 2 years. Weekly indemnity: $413 AD&D: $50,000 Life insurance: Employer pays 65% of premiums. Employees absent from work as a result of layoff for more than 4 consecu- tive months will be responsible for 100% of premium costs for the time missed. Pension: Employer pays $3.94 per seaday in consideration of the wind-up of the flat-rate ben- efit pension plan. Contributions made by employees between May 1, 2015, and Feb. 28, 2016, will be matched by the em- ployer to a maximum of $1,400. Contributions made by employ- ees between March 1, 2016, and Feb. 28, 2017, will be matched by the employer to a maximum of $1,500. Contribution made by employees between March 1, 2017, and Feb. 29, 2018, will be matched by the employer to a maximum of $1,600. Bereavement leave: $1,350 per week missed when an employ- ees is brought ashore before the completion of a trip in the event of the death of a spouse, child, stepchild, father, step- father, mother or stepmother. $1,000 per week in the event of the death of a brother or sister. $750 per week in the event of a grandchild, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparent or legal guardian. Seniority – recall rights: 2 years. Probationary period: 3 con- secutive trips. Severance: $500 per year of service for employees with at least 10 years of service. Uniforms/clothing: $2.50 per seaday. Sample rates of pay, current: Deckhand/steward: $173.19 per seaday Cook/assistant factory boss: $177.19 2nd engineer: $187.69 In-port 2nd engineer/cook: $18 per hour In-port deckhand/steward: $15 Editor's notes: Leave of absence: Employees will be granted unpaid leave for the purpose of attending a recognized institution in order to improve their skills as crewmembers. Danger pay: Employees receive $1.25 per seaday in lieu Employees are entitled to 36 hours of personal time per calendar year. $1.25 will be paid per seaday in lieu of danger pay.
