Call-in pay: 3 hours' pay if employee reports for scheduled shift and no work is available. 4 hours' pay or pay for hours worked, whichever is greater, if employee commences work and is sent home. Safety shoes: 10¢ per hour for mechanics welders, apprentice mechanics, tire technicians, service technicians, and lube and fuel technicians, to a maxi- mum of $225 per year. Uniforms/clothing: Rainwear will be provided when required to work in the rain. Gloves, wristlets, coveralls, quilted cov- eralls will be provided. Tool allowance: $1 per hour worked for journeyman me- chanics and apprentice me- chanics, paid monthly. (Previ- ously 50¢ per hour worked to all employees other than mechan- ics.) Mileage: 49¢ per km. (Previ- ously 39¢ per km.) Sample rates of pay (current): Group 1: $41.65 Group 2: $38.32 Group 3: $36.46 Group 4: $31.63 Group 5: $25.74 Group 6: $24.75 Group 7: $24 Editor's notes: Inconvenience allowance: $10 per day if Syncrude bus is used for return from site to Fort McMurray due to continuous (hot change) or 12-hour shift. MANUFACTURING Wholesome Harvest Baking Calgary (140 plant and maintenance employees) and the Teamsters Local Union 987 Renewal agreement: Effective Dec. 4, 2015, to Dec. 3, 2018. Wage adjustments: Effective Dec. 3, 2016: 30¢ Effective Dec. 3, 2017: 35¢ Shift premium: 90¢ per hour for hours worked between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. 75¢ per hour for warehouse associates required to continuously work in the freezer. $1.50 per hour for lead hand. Paid holidays: 11 days. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% vacation pay to start, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 10 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 20 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked beyond 8 per day or 40 per week. Time and one-half for all time worked on a holiday. Medical benefits: 80% co-in- surance. Semi-private hospital room coverage. No single or family deductible. Dental: $1,500 yearly maxi- mum. Vision: $200 every 2 years. Paramedical: $300 per year per practitioner for chiropractic, massage therapy, physiothera- py, and podiatry. Weekly indemnity: 66 2/3% up to the EI maximum. Sick leave: 2 paid sick days per year, paid out every December if not used. AD&D: $28,000. Life insurance: $28,000. Pension: Canada Bread West- ern Bakery Pension Plan, a non- contributory plan for members. $50 per month based on 25 years of service for certified maintenance employees. $25 for any other employees. Bereavement leave: 3 days with pay for employee's parents, siblings, stepparents, stepchil- dren, mother-in-law, father-in- law, grandparents, or spouse's grandparents. 5 days with pay for death of employee's spouse, common law spouse, or child. Call-in pay: 4 hours' pay unless work not available due to act of God. Probationary period: 3 months. Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months. Safety shoes: $135 per year for safety shoes, $160 per year for freezer boots. Uniforms/clothing: Uniforms, freezer suits, gloves, aprons, hats, hairnets, and any other clothing required will be pro- vided by employee. Tool allowance: $250 per year. Sample rates of pay (current): Associate 1: $13.99 per hour rising in 5 steps to $20.31 Sanitation: $15.96 rising in 5 steps to $21.66 Associate II: $16.95 rising in 5 steps to $22.14 Maintenance journeyman rates: Single ticket: $34.12 Dual ticket: $35.12 Editor's notes: Birth leave: 1 day with pay to attend birth of child. Maternity/parental leave: In accordance with Employment Standards Code. Employer will make reasonable effort to return employee to their position. Witness/ jury duty: Time off with pay, less jury duty pay. Apprentices: Company will pay for tuition and books upon successful completion of program. Employee must remain with company for 2 years or reimburse company on prorated basis. Employees serving as a witness or jury member will be granted time off with pay, less jury duty pay. $10 per day inconvenience allowance when Syncrude bus is used to return from site.
