Vacations with pay: 2 weeks and 4% after 1 year, 4 weeks and 6% after 4 years (previously 3 weeks), 5 weeks and 10% after 10 years, 6 weeks and 12% after 15 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for hours over 45 in a week or 9 in a day. After 3 hours of time and one-half in a day, employ- ees get double time. Double time for hours in excess of 60 per week. Meal allowance: TL2 tax forms annually for expenses during trips over 50 km. Medical benefits: 100% of premiums paid by employer for Medical Services Plan of B.C. to employee age of 70. Dental: 100% to a maximum of $2,000 per year for basic services. 50% per year for ma- jor restorative services, with maximum combined with basic services. 50% with a lifetime maximum of $1,500 for depen- dants under 18. Dental recall and recall exams covered for 1 each per year. Vision: $200 every 2 years. $100 per year for eye examinations for children, per 2 years for adults. Paramedical: $300 per prac- titioner per year (previously $500). $500 every 5 years for hearing aids. Weekly indemnity: 66.667% of weekly earnings to EI maxi- mum. Sick leave: Unpaid leave with doctor's note, which employer will pay for up to $25. LTD: 66.667% of monthly earn- ings to a maximum of $5,000 per month and 119 days. Cov- erage to age 65. Employer will pay up to $100 for medical fees related to claim. AD&D: $25,000, dropping by 50% after 65 and ending at 70. Life insurance: $25,000, drop- ping by 50% after 65 and ending at 70. Bereavement leave: 5 days with pay for spouse (includ- ing common law or same-sex partner), parents or steppar- ents of employee and spouse, children, sister or brother, and grandchildren (previously 3 days). 3 days with pay for death of grandparent, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, or parent in law. Employee can request 2 further days without pay. Seniority – recall rights: 1 year for over 1 year of service, 4 months for under 1 year of service. Call-in pay: 2 hours' pay, mini- mum, at time and one-half . Probationary period: 480 hours or 120 days from date of hire, whichever comes first. Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years, provided no reoccur- rence of same offence during that time (previously 3 years). Severance: 1 week's pay per year of service up to 8 weeks' pay. Uniforms/clothing: $800 interest-free loan for employees to purchase bullet-resistant vests, paid back in $50 incre- ments on each pay cheque. Em- ployer will provide uniform and any other necessary equipment. Tool allowance: 4 hours straight time per year for gun practice, with 100 rounds for practice and 100 rounds for qualifications provided by em- ployer. Mileage: 40¢ per km and em- ployer pays to upgrade auto insurance for business use. Sample rates of pay (current, after 55¢ increase): $14.71 while on probation, ris- ing in 6 steps to $19.45 after 9 years. Editor's notes: Family responsibility leave: 5 days without pay per year to meet responsibilities related to care, health or education of a child or any other member of immediate family. Maternity/parental/adoption leave: 2 days with pay for birth or adoption of a child, on top of federal government's leave policies. Wage adjustments: Effective Nov. 1, 2014 2% Effective Nov. 1, 2015 1.25% Effective May 1, 2016 1.25% Shift premium: Weekend: $3 per hour where the majority of shift falls during 56-hour period from 11 p.m. Friday until 7 a.m. Monday. Night: $2 per hour from 11 p.m. until 7 a.m. Eve- ning: $2 per hour from 3 p.m. until 11 p.m. Paid holidays: 11 Vacations with pay: Full-time: 1 day for each month for first year, 10 days after 1 year, 15 days after 2 years, 20 days after 6 years, 25 days after 12 years, 30 days after 17 years. Part- time, casual: 4% hours worked for first year, 4% hours worked after 1 year, 6% hours worked after 2 years, 8% hours worked after 6 years, 10% hours worked after 12 years, 12% hours worked after 17 years. Meal allowance: Meal ticket provided for overtime work af- ter 3 hours. Medical benefits: Direct pay drug card: drugs reimbursed at 80%, mandatory generic sub- stitution, maximum dispensing fee of $9.25. Dental: Basic treatments: once per 9 months, 100% coverage. Major treatments: 50% cover- age. Maximum annual $1,200 per person per year (basic, ma- jor treatments combined). Sick leave: Credits accrue at rate of 1.25 shifts for each 162.5 seniority hours and 167.9 se- niority hours for licensed prac- tical nurses, up to maximum 15 full-time shifts credited to sick leave account. Part-time sick leave credits on a pro-rata basis, (i.e. 9.375 hours credited sick leave for each 162.5 hours worked). STD: Benefits commence on the 8 th day of disability (after waiting period of a 7 days) pay- able at 66.67% of earnings. LTD: Benefits commence 17 weeks payable at 66.67% of earnings. AD&D: $25,000 Life insurance: $25,000 Pension: Contributions bi- weekly 2%. Employees eligible after completion of 3,900 se- niority hours; nurses after completion of 4,030 seniority hours. Bereavement leave: 4 days with pay (mother, father, le- gally recognized stepparents, husband, wife, son, daughter, stepchildren, brother, sister, common law spouse and same sex partner). 3 days with pay (grandparents, grandchildren, mother-n-law, father in-law, sis- ter-in-law, brother-in-law, aunt and uncle). 2 more days with pay if needed to travel more than 300 km for funeral. Probationary period: Full- time: 3 months. Part-time: 487.5 hours. Full-time/part- time nurse: 503. 75 hours. Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months.
