(9 airport workers) and Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), Local 2012-02 Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2017, to April 30, 2022. Signed on Feb. 16, 2017. Wage adjustments: Effective May 1, 2017: 2% Effective May 1, 2018: 2% Effective May 1, 2019: 2% Effective May 1, 2020: 2.5% Effective May 1, 2021: 2.5% Shift premium: Acting pay (position of supervisor): Extra 10% of rate. Charge hand pay (duties with more responsibili- ty): Extra 8% of rate. Night shift: $1.50 per hour for all hours worked between 6 p.m. and 7 a.m. Weekend shift: $1 per hour for all hours worked on a Saturday or Sunday. Aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) premium: $2.50 per hour. Paid holidays: 12 days. Vacations with pay: 3 weeks after 1 year, 4 weeks after 8 years, 5 weeks after 15 years, 6 weeks after 22 years. Maximum one-half of entitlement may be carried over per year. Overtime: Time and one-half for first 4 hours worked after regular hours, double time for all hours worked thereafter. Time and one-half for first 8 hours worked on day off. Dou- ble time for all hours worked on second day off. Meal allowance: $15 when working more than 3 hours' overtime, $15 for each subse- quent 4 hours. $15 when called in on day of rest, $15 for subse- quent 8 hours. Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Sick leave: For 30-hours-per- week workers: 7.5 hours per month, minimum 60 hours worked. For 40-hours-per-week workers: 10 hours per month, minimum 80 hours worked. For workers completing less than 30 hours per week: 1.25 days based on previous months' hours worked. STD: 66.6% of wages, maxi- mum 15 weeks. LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums. AD&D: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee Life insurance: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums. Pension: Employees will be enrolled in B.C. Municipal Pen- sion Plan and will contribute as plan requires. Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (father, mother, stepfather, step- mother, foster-parent, brother, sister, spouse, common-law spouse resident with employee, child, child of common-law spouse, stepchild, ward of em- ployee, father-in-law, mother- in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in- law, grandparent(s), grandchild, brother-in-law or sister-on-law, niece, nephew, relative residing in employee's household). 3 ad- ditional days to travel. Seniority – recall rights: 1 year. Call-in pay: The greater of: 3 hours' overtime pay or overtime pay for time worked. Probationary period: 6 months. Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years. Severance: For first layoff: 2 weeks' pay for first year of ser- vice, 1 week of pay for each year thereafter. For second layoff: 1 week of pay for each year. Safety shoes: Maximum $200 (previously 50%) every 2 years. Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide: 3 pairs of pants per year or as required, 3 shirts per year or as required, 3 pairs of pants per every 2 years for part-time employees, 3 shirts per every 2 years for part-time employees, rain gear, coveralls, sunglasses, sun-screen, insect repellent, bear spray, climb- ing equipment, hats, gloves, and any other safety-related equipment not listed. 1 parka every 5 years, maximum $200 (colour, style to be approved by employer). Mileage: CRA Canada Revenue Agency rate maximum (previ- ously $0.50 per kilometre). Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 9.3% increase): Labourer: $23.11 rising 4 steps to $25.26 Operator temporary & admin assistant Start: $26.39 rising 4 steps to $28.84 At 201 hours: $27.92 rising 4 steps to $30.52 Administration specialist Start: $29.48 rising 4 steps to $32.22 At 201 hours: $31.19 rising 4 steps to $34.09 AOS operations Start: $29.97 rising 4 steps to $32.76 At 201 hours: $31.71 rising 4 steps to $34.66 AOS asset maintenance Start: $32.11 rising 4 steps to $31.10 At 201 hours: $33.99 rising 4 steps to $37.15 AOS mechanic: $36.43 rising 4 steps to $39.83 AOS electrician: $36.43 rising 4 steps to $39.83 Supervisor operations mainte- nance & security: $40.80 rising 4 steps to $44.60 Student who works more than 1 summer will receive additional 10% for each subsequent sum- mer. Editor's notes: Recreational passes: Employer will reimburse cost for recreation passes (monthly, semi-annual or an- nual) 100% for single pass for permanent employees only, 30% for family pass for permanent employees. Maximum $500 per year per employee. Activities include: hockey membership, ski passes, pool passes, gym membership, hik- ing club, yoga club membership, exercise programs and other types of fitness programs. Wash-up time: Maximum 10 minutes before end of working day and before lunch period. Standby pay: $16 for each 8 hours. Meals while travelling on business: Full day: $90 (previously $70); breakfast: $25 (previously $15); lunch: $25 (previously $20); dinner: $40 (previously $35).
