How to let recruiters know you're open to opportunities
Your private job hunt on LinkedIn
By Leslie Hughes
Along with all the new changes to the
look-and-feel of your LinkedIn profile, you
can also secretly let recruiters know you're
open to new opportunities.
Simply click on "Jobs" from the top
navigation bar and then click on the "Up-
date Preferences" link. Follow the "wizard"
to add the location, the level of job you're
interested in, the industry you are considering and more.
Click the "Let recruiters know you're open" to ON and
then click "Done."
If you're actively pursuing new opportunities, you may
wish to consider investing in the LinkedIn's Premium Ca-
reer paid upgrade. It's $30.99 per month, and you can test it
out with a free month membership first.
Remember: It's important to have the most up-to-date
and optimized profile before you begin this process!

Improv opens business
possibilities
Did you know that improv, an established form of
theatre, is also used in business?
Successful improv depends upon keeping an
open mind "so that we can take in and absorb the
offers and opportunities that are being presented
to us," says Bob Kulhan, co-author of a new book,
Yes And: The Art of Business Improvisation.
He is also a part-time comedian and an adjunct
professor at Duke University and Columbia Busi
-
ness School.
