Fix column widths
• In the worksheet frame, select columns A–F with the black
stubby arrow
• Place the mouse between columns C and D, and double-click
for best fit
Fix column G to wrap
• Select Column G
• Right-click and select Column Width; type 55
• Click OK
• Select Home | Alignment | Wrap text

Most of us absorb information when it is in a visual format.
Excel worksheets with rows and columns can look very
tabular when left with the default formatting and align-
ment and font settings. In this article, we are going to show
you how to make your Excel worksheets visually more
appealing.
Microsoft Office Excel has a number of features that
make it easy to manage and analyze information. It is im-
portant that you organize and format the information, text,
data and graphics in order to take full advantage of these
many features. This article will focus on the alignment and
formatting of text.
In the following how-to guide, we will be using an exam-
ple from one of our Learning Tree Microsoft Excel courses.

Once you have the document open, proceed with the
following steps:
Fix Default Font
• Click the upper left corner of the spreadsheet, to the left of column A,
to select all cells
• Select Home | Font | Font drop-down, and select Trebuchet MS
• Select Home | Font | Font Size drop-down, and select 11 point
