3 Canadian HR Reporter, a Thomson Reuters business 2017 Shift premium: $800 per year for bilingual positions. $2 per hour for all hours worked, including overtime hours, between 4 p.m. and 8 a.m. $2 per hour for work on Saturday or Sunday. $2 per hour for all hours worked on split-shift. Paid holidays: 11 days. Vacations with pay: 9.375 hours per month to start, 12.5 hours per month after 5 years, 15.63 hours per month after 18 years, 18.75 hours after 28 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for first 4 hours, double time thereafter. May be paid in equivalent leave. Meal allowance: $9 for work- ing more than 3 hours' over- time, except where free meals are provided. $9 for each subse- quent 4 hours' overtime. Medical benefits: Public Ser- vice Health Care Plan. Dental: Public Service Dental Care Plan. Sick leave: 9.4 hours per month. Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (spouse, employee's or spouse's father, mother, stepfather, step- mother, foster-parent, brother, sister, child, stepchild, ward, grandparent, grandchild, moth- er-in-law, father-in-law, relative residing in employee's house- hold). 3 additional days for travel if needed. 1 day for death of son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law. Call-in pay: 3 hours' pay at overtime rate for each call- back, maximum 8 hours' pay in 8-hour period, or overtime pay for all hours worked. Probationary period: 6 months. Discipline: Sunset clause is 1 year. Severance: On first layoff, 2 weeks' pay for first year of service or 3 weeks' pay for em- ployees with 10 or more years of service or 4 weeks' pay for employees with 20 or more years of service, plus 1 week's pay for each year. On second or subsequent layoff, 1 week's pay for each year of service. Uniforms/clothing: Employer will be responsible for provi- sion, cleaning and repair of any needed clothing. Sample rates of annual pay (current, after 20% increase): ME-01: $40,497 rising 5 steps to $48,618 ME-02: $44,443 rising 5 steps to $53,466 ME-03: $49,102 rising 5 steps to $59,026 ME-04: $54,477 rising 5 steps to $66,213 ME-05: $60,929 rising 5 steps to $74,474 ME-06: $68,813 rising 5 steps to $84,343 ME-07: $77,773 rising 5 steps to $95,383 ME-08: $86,375 rising 5 steps to $105,336 Editor's notes: Wash-up time: If employer determines there is clear need, wash-up time maximum 10 minutes will be permitted at end of working day. Standby pay: $40 for each 8 hours or portion thereof that employee is on standby. Diving allowance: Employees whose job duties require them to dive will be paid extra $15 per hour, minimum 2 hours per dive. Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for Ara- mark Canada Ltd. Employee Benefits Program. Dental: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums. 100% of expenses according to the current pro- vincial dental fee guide reim- bursed, maximum $1,000 per person per year. Sick leave: 5 days per year. AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums for $10,000 coverage. Life insurance: Basic life: $10,000. Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse, common-law spouse, same-sex spouse, employee's parents, spouse's parents, step- parent, legal guardian, ward, child, stepchild, sibling, steps- ibling, grandparent, grandchild, stepgrandparent, stepgrand- child). 2 days for death of aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, relative living in household of employ- ee. Consideration will be given for travel time to attend funeral. Seniority – recall rights: 6 months. Probationary period: 90 days. Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months.
