Signed on Aug. 1, 2016. Wage adjustments: Effective Aug. 1, 2016: 1.75% Effective Aug. 1, 2017: 2% Effective Aug. 1, 2018: 2.25% Shift premium: $4 per hour when training new employee. $4 per hour when employee is temporarily assigned managerial duties. $0.75 per hour for most-senior door attendant on shift. Paid holidays: 11 days. Vacations with pay: 1 day per month, maximum 10 days or 4% to start, 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 3 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 6 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 25 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours up to 10 hours per day, and for all work after 40 hours in any 5-day period up to 48 hours. Double time thereafter. May be banked, maximum 5 days. Medical benefits: Employer pays 80% of premiums for B.C. Medical Services Plan. Dental: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums. Vision: $75 every 2 years for eye examinations. Paramedical: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums, maximum $500 per year. Weekly indemnity: After working minimum 240 hours in 3-month period, employer will provide 60% of earnings payable from first day of injury or fourth day of illness. Life insurance: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums. Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (parents, common-law spouse, husband, wife, child, brother, sister, grandparent, grandchildren, same-sex spouse). 1 day for death of father-in-law, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law. 1 day for death of employee's close friend or relative not otherwise defined. Seniority – recall rights: Up to end of probationary period: 6 months; after 6 months' service: 12 months; after 1 years' service: 18 months. Probationary period: 90 days. Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months, unless another suspension occurs, whereby suspension will remain further 12 months. Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 4.3% increase): Bartender: $16.15 rising 2 steps to $16.84 Server: $13.23 rising 2 steps to $13.79 Barporter: $11.62 rising 2 steps to $12.12 Busperson: $12.21 rising 2 steps to $12.73 Box office: $14.74 rising 2 steps to $15.37 Usher: $12.79 rising 2 steps to $13.34 Barista: $12.18 rising 2 steps to $12.70 Dishwasher: $12.21 rising 2 steps to $12.73 Door charge attendant: $14.11 rising 2 steps to $14.71 Door attendant: $14.27 rising 2 steps to $14.88 Cook/prep cook: $14.74 rising 2 steps to $15.37 Editor's notes: Cashing out: Employer will allow up to 15 minutes on employer's time to employee who has responsibility of cashing out. Surcharge: Employer will guarantee 17% surcharge (before tax) is charged on all contracted host food and bar bills based on gross charges and will ensure money is distributed appropriately to staff in that location. Whenever employer holds function at Arts Club venue and host beverages are served, surcharge of $20 will be paid by employer to each bar staff employee working event. Paid-education leave: Employer will pay $0.04 per hour per employee into special fund to provide paid-education leave for upgrading employee skills in all aspects of trade union functions SOCIAL SERVICES Community Living Kingston and District Kingston, Ont. (210 social workers, health-care aides, drivers) and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), Local 2635 Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2017, to March 31, 2020. Signed on Jan. 31, 2017. Wage adjustments: Effective April 1, 2018: $0.11 per hour Effective April 1, 2019: $0.11 per hour Shift premium: Awake overnight: $1.80 per hour. Kwik-Shred: $1.01 per hour. Employer assignment to a higher paying classification: hourly rate differential between employee's current rate of pay and applicable rate of pay of higher classification, in accordance with grid steps. Home facilitators who are required to stay awake between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. will receive awake-overnight premium of$3.50 per hour. Paid holidays: 10 days plus 4 floater days. After 20 years of service, 1 additional floater day. After 30 years of service, 1 additional floater day. Home facilitators will receive additional 3 floating holidays per year. Vacations with pay: 120 hours after 1 year, 160 hours after 5 years, 200 hours after 10 years, 240 hours after 15 years. Long- service recognition: Employees who reach 25th, 30th, 35th and 40th employment anniversary will receive additional 3 days of vacation for that year only. Overtime: Time and one- half for all work after regular hours. May be accumulated, maximum 40 hours. Meal allowance: $11 (previously $10) when employee is required to work during meal hours. When dining out for business purposes, employer will pay: $16 for breakfast (previously $15), $20 for lunch (previously $18), $25 for supper (previously $21). Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Dental: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25%. Vision: $200 every 24 months for dependants older than 18; $200 every 12 months for dependants younger than 18. Sick leave: 5.54 hours per pay period, maximum 144 hours. Employer will make 2 lump-sum payments of $175 to employees who use no sick days between Jan. 1 and June 30, and Cashing out: Employer will allow up to 15 minutes to cash out.
