(16 warehouse employees) and Teamsters Canada, Local 31 Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2018, to Dec. 31, 2021. Signed on Dec. 21, 2017. Shift premium: $0.30 per hour for employee holding first-aid certificate recognized under workers' compensation board regulations who is designated by employer to carry out duties of first-aid attendant, class C. Minimum 4 hours of pay at overtime rate for employee who works on sixth shift. Paid holidays: 10 days. Vacations with pay: 4% to start, 10 days or 4% after 1 year, 15 days or 6% after 5 years, 20 days or 8% after 10 years, 25 days or 10% after 15 years, 30 days or 12% after 21 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. May be banked, maximum 40 hours per year. Meal allowance: When em- ployee is required to work more than 2 hours of overtime, em- ployee will be given paid time off (at applicable overtime rate) to eat, except where interrup- tion of work is not practical. Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums (bene- fits provided are equal to, or better than, benefits provided by Teamsters National Benefit Plan, coverage level A). Sick leave: 1/2 day per month, maximum 30 days (employee must be paid for not less than 128 hours per 4-week period to be credited). Pension: Employer will con- tribute $2.65 per hour into Teamsters National Pension Plan. Effective Jan. 1, 2021: $2.80 per hour. Bereavement leave: 3 days for death of parent, spouse, brother, sister, child, parent- in-law, sister-in-law, brother- in-law, niece, nephew, aunt, uncle, cousin, grandparents, grandchildren, which include spouse's grandparents and grandchildren. 2 additional days for travel more than 500 kilometres round trip. Time off without pay may be granted to attend funeral. Seniority – recall rights: 12 months. Probationary period: 45 days and have worked minimum of average of 24 hours per week. Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months. Safety shoes: $150 per year (previously $125 per year) for safety boots. Uniforms/clothing: When employee is required to wear uniform or coveralls as condi- tion of continued employment, uniform or coveralls will be furnished and maintained by employer. If requested by em- ployee, employer will supply 2 pairs of coveralls. Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after increase): Container examination facility/ warehouse operator: $20.43 ris- ing 3 steps to $21.63 Yard-tractor operator: $23.45 rising 3 steps to $23.65 Charge-hand: $26.64 rising 3 steps to $27.84 New hires: $2 per hour less than above rates (will be increased by $1 after 12 months; after 18 months: another $0.50 increase; at 24 months: full-rate. Editor's notes: Medical examinations: When employee is required by employer to take medical examination outside of regular hours, employer will pay maximum 2 hours' pay at straight time. Industry fund: Employer will contribute $0.05 per hour per employee, maximum of 168 hours per month, into Teamsters Local No. 3 1 Union/Industry Ad- vancement Fund. SOCIAL SERVICES Southern Alberta Community Living Association Lethbridge, Alta. (146 support workers, administrative staff ) and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), Local 4791 Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2017, to Dec. 31, 2018. Signed on March 26, 2018. Paid holidays: 12 days. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks af- ter 1 year, 3 weeks after 3 years, 4 weeks after 9 years, 5 weeks after 16 years, 6 weeks after 21 years, 7 weeks after 26 years. Employee may bank maximum 1 week of unused vacation from one year to next. Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after regular hours. Medical benefits: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employ- ee pays 50% of premiums. $500 per year for health spending account. $500 per year for well- ness account. Dental: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums. Sick leave: 12 days per year. LTD: Employer pays 40% of premiums, employee pays 60% of premiums. AD&D: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums. Life insurance: Employee pays 100% of premiums. Pension: Employees will receive 3% of gross earnings through contributions by em- ployer into RRSP. Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of son, daughter, sister, brother, mother, spouse, fath- er, fiancé. 3 days for death of grandparent, legal guardian, daughter-in-law, father-in-law, mother-in-law, aunt, uncle, son-in-law, sister-in-law, niece, grandchild, brother-in-law, nephew. 1 day for death of per- son with whom employee had special relationship. Further 5 days without pay in case of responsibilities occasioned by death of relative. 1 day to be pallbearer at funeral. Additional 3 days without pay for travel. Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours' pay at overtime rates. Probationary period: 6 months. Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months. Mileage: $0.50 per kilometre for association-approved travel.
